  1. Fresh off celebrating their 30th anniversary as one of the most beloved and adventurous bands in rock history, Yo La Tengo announce that they will release Stuff Like That There on August 28th via Matador Records.

The trio of Ira Kaplan, Georgia Hubley and James McNew now return as a quartet, reuniting with former member Dave Schramm on electric guitar as they revisit the original concept of their beloved Fakebook (a mix of cover songs, “covers” of Yo La Tengo songs, and brand new originals) on its 25th anniversary. This unprecedented live set-up -- Ira on acoustic guitar, Georgia up-front on a small kit, and James on upright bass -- marks the first occasion of this particular Yo La Tengo incarnation touring together (and since it took them 31 years to get around to doing so, could very well also be the last).

    Tracklisting:
1: My Heart's Not in It (Darlene McCrea)
    2: Rickety
3: I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry (Hank Williams)
4: All Your Secrets (remake of track from Popular Songs)
5: The Ballad of Red Buckets (remake of track from Electr-o-pura)
6: Friday I'm in Love (The Cure)
7: Before We Stopped to Think (Great Plains)
8: Butchie's Tune (The Lovin' Spoonful)
    9: Automatic Doom (Special Pillow)
    10: Awhileaway
11: I Can Feel the Ice Melting (The Parliaments)
    12: Naples (Antietam)
13: Deeper Into Movies (remake of track from I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One)
14: Somebody's in Love (The Cosmic Rays with Le Sun Ra and Arkestra)

A special, one-off concert by the Rolling Stones last month, performing their classic album Sticky Fingers live at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, is now available on Apple Music for a limited period.

The Rolling Stones kicked off their US Zip Code tour this summer with a special performance of Sticky Fingers, in its entirety at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles. Sticky Fingers Live is now available to download on iTunes and features the band – Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts – performing to a packed, intimate 1,200 capacity audience.

Opening with ‘Sway’, before ripping through incredible performances of ‘Dead Flowers’, ‘Wild Horses’, ‘Sister Morphine’, ‘You Gotta Move’, ‘Bitch’ and ‘Brown Sugar’, the one-off concert was dubbed the hottest ticket of the year and also featured the Stones regular band of back-up musicians Lisa Fischer (Vocals), Bernard Fowler (Vocals), Darryl Jones (Bass) and Chuck Leavell (Keyboards). This concert marked the first time the band performed Sticky Fingers in its entirety.

Sticky Fingers Live has been mixed by the Award-winning Producer Bob Clearmountain

He looked up briefly and smiled when I had entered the room but went straight back to the book. I sat down and picked up a copy of the New Musical Express and started to flick through the pages. It was as if we were both waiting to be interviewed for a job. Moments passed, and the long, thin, skinny guy with the mod haircut and oversize ears hadn’t looked up again. I was now positive I knew him.

‘I don’t want to appear rude but haven’t we met?’ I asked, rather nervously for fear I may be intruding.

‘I thought that when you walked in but I can’t think where.’

‘Neither can I. I’m Sean Tyla, by the way, I’m with the Helps,’ I said getting up and offering my hand.

‘Oh, okay, I’m Nick Lowe,’ said the mystery man, offering a hand, ‘I’m a Brinsley.’

‘Nick Lowe?’ I said, the penny beginning to drop. The memory cells were now in overdrive. ‘Let me try one out of left field here.’

‘Okay,’ Nick replied, a curious smile breaking across his face.

TWIST AND SHOUT07:24 THE AGORA CLEVELAND, OH New from the Bruce Springsteen Archives, transferred from the stereo reel-to-reel tapes via the Plangent Process and mastered at Gateway Mastering. HD files are 24 bit / 192 kHz. Release notes from Toby Scott: I found the seven Agora tape reels in a box that had been returned from the Rock'n Roll Hall Of Fame. The tapes were part of an exclusive Springsteen exhibit “Asbury Park to the Promised Land”. It wasn’t until the request to release this show came up that the tapes needed to be found. Not at Sony, not at Thrill Hill Archives, not at the archiving company. Last known location was the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame. They informed me what box to look in and there they were, marked with the original indication of speed, tracks and show date. I had the tapes delivered to Plangent Processes for evaluation and transfer, if they seemed to be of adequate quality. After comparison to other copies of this show, this was the best version and potentially the original master tapes. Plangent transferred all seven reels using their unique process, which corrects any speed variations for accurate playback. This eliminates the wow and flutter usually found in the playback of any analog tape. This new transfer to the digital domain was done at 192 (samples per second) with 24 bit resolution. The resulting digital files were sent to Gateway Mastering for evaluation and mastering, as was done to the Box Set Volume 1, recently released to critical acclaim. The resulting new master will give a renewed vigor to the already exciting show.
