Thats the real beauty of an LP....that you know the surface as well as the music itself. Everyone can talk about how much better LPs sound (maybe and maybe not), but every LP has a feel that goes beyond the actual sound.

Well said!

Nice pass, Tweedling!!!!

true, I guess my point is an lp can be more personal than a cd.
I still enjoy them and am fascinated at the amount of people who believe turntables are no longer available, yet still have their albums.
I have a few post 90s vinyl releases - but mostly older, historically significant releases.

Ya see, there's that copy of (insert some great record from childhood here) that had a skip on it.
It played on through, but at the time it pissed you off - 'cause it was a great song.
Later on in life, you buy it on CD and when the skip is supposed to come, it doesn't ...............and you miss it not being there.
Now, what's up with that?

wowee, really want to see it again. best "car-can't-start-they're-gonna-catch-us" scene ever, among other things.
Make sure to watch the extras. The scene starting when they push the wheelchair onto the street is ONE take and does not finish until he reaches the top floor of the building.
It's quite impressive!!

A friend of mine has been working his ass off trying to turn me on to Wilco.
I liked most of it and really grew to respect Tweedy, but the discs came and went from my player, never lasting more than a week. I mixed a CD of favorites and that one never fails, but it's 12 songs over their entire career.
Then came Sky Blue Sky and this sucker won't quit.
I'm really not in a position to compare it to anything else in their catalog and I'm sure some fans may not be pleased with it, but let me assure you that SBS is one of the best albums I've heard in a very long time. Not sure where, but it would definitely make my top 50 - (all time!!!!)
BTW
Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else think of John Lennon when they listen to Hate It Here?
I picked up a little also on The Thanks I Get .
Any thoughts or link to previous thread?
I did a search but reading 9 pages on the VW commercial thing was a bore.

Then Jimmy Page joins and eventually replaces Jeff Beck.
