  1. Anyone know any specifics about a possible Wilco VH1 story or segment. It was confirmed by a couple of people that Jeff and John were being interviewed on the stage pre-show one day at the Riv. They also shot some live footage apparently. I tried the VH1 site, but I'll I could find was lots of garbage about Bret Michaels.

Confirmed. I met the guy on the first night who was going to interview tweedy and John. He seemed like a cool guy and said that he convinced his boss to do the segment, and now they are the only music media outlet that covered the residency.

He also convinced his boss that attending multiple nights of the residency was "work related" :)

  2. You know, I don't want to shit in anyone's punchbowl, but if there is going to be encoding of these files into MP3, they should be at least high quality MP3 (OiNK rules). 90kbps is really crappy. I would be happy to share my MP3s that I encoded to V0 (192kbps VBR) using DBPoweramp. But once you have them, they should stay digital. PM me.

Tapers take a lot of time to get their recordings right, and if someone puts MP3s on a CD, gives them to a friend who then encodes to WAV/FLAC (or anything), then it is a transcode and this messes up the trading pool.

    Give me a break....

    1. The FM stream is the only show that isencoded at 90

    2. All of the AUD's are encoded at 169 kbps, per itunes

    3. I have all of the flacs, and all of the flacs are available on etree or other bt sites

    4. I was trying to help those that DON't GIVE A **** about how the file is encoded

    5. if you're an audiophile, leave the thread and don't download the files

    6. Sorry if this is a bit harsh, but i put a lot of time into converting and tagging every freaking song

    7. If you are going to bitch about it, then encode 192's and upload them for everyone to have

  3. Hello all... Saturday at the Tower Theater will be my first Wilco show. I'd like to know if anyone knows if there will be show posters being sold and how much do they usually go for? Thanks!

Most likely, the are usually 25 bucks, well worth it if you ask me

  4. Sorry for posting another thread on this topic, but I figured i'd share what i have. I have the first four nights, and now i've tagged all of them with song titles. I also figured i'd put the mp3's all on one place for everyone to find.

  5. I've listened to that impossible germany solo - supposedly nels' crowning moment in wilco - a lot and it just does nothing for me

    just doesn't go anywhere

i'm not a huge nels fan. talented guy, just never thought it was a good fit.

Were you at these chicago shows? He made so many old songs better imho. Check out the ashes of american flags from friday and you'll see. Also, his work on the older wilco stuff sounded GREAT

  6. Sorry. I made a trade before show last night. I would imagine they will sell these posters online. Last night they were selling 5 night sets for $125 at the show, so it seems they have no problem pressing more.

Yup, and I managed to convince the merch lady to sell the two nights i needed too...It took the entire Spiders jam to do it, but it was worth it!!
