  1. we also have two little ones under 6 (2 and 4) and we're looking forward to the entire weekend! We plan on doing some things in the mid-day with some trips back to our hotel for naptimes. I hope they get a kick out of all of the art and sound exhibits as well as the concerts.

I understand the dismay about charging for kids 7+ but it seems that Wilco has been growing in popularity with kids as the original fans have families...maybe Spencer Tweedy and a band will be playing something special for kids? :) Still, a youth price would have been nice for kids 6-12 but how do you enforce that?

Before this came up, we were looking for a weekend vacation with the family somewhere here in New England and then this dropped into our laps. :)

That settles it we're bringing our kids. I think we will fly into Boston a day or two early and slowly make our way across the state. My kids demand Wilco or Jeff practically every time we get into the car so a fest thrown by them about interactive art and music would be hard to deny. Throw in all the state parks and this will make a great vacation.

    Thanks for input!!

  2. Hey I have two crazy Wilcoheads both under 6 and am seriously considering making this trip part of our summer vacation , especially with all the state parks I see on the maps I'm looking at.

So here is my question : is anyone else considering taking their kids? Does anyone know the start times for the 2 Wilco shows ?

    Thanks for your help

  3. I live in North Adams.

This is probably the closest (quite a hike but you could walk it if you were determined): Windsor Lake

This is maybe 10 or 15 minutes by car at the most: Clarksburg State Park

For those of you who have expressed concerns, the Holiday Inn is a perfectly fine place to stay. It's really your standard hotel of the kind we have stayed at many times when traveling to see Wilco.

I couldn't believe the news they were doing this in my hometown. I've been saying for years it would be the perfect place for a Wilco show; I never dreamed we'd get a festival.

...if I can help anyone else with local information, let me know.

Hey thanks for the info...If Holiday inn gets booked tomorrow maybe you could recommend a B&B.

    Thanks

  4. this looks like fun

Festival goers will be able to participate in an interactive guitar pedal exhibit with Wilco guitarist Nels Cline, a concert-poster silk screening demonstration, a drum and percussion workshop by Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche, and workshops with guitar makers or try out the solid sound stompbox station. Film and video installations, and DJs will fill out the events.

    :cheers

    WOW!!!! I'm there.

    Thank you

  5. I was sitting stage right directly next to the women that talked through the entire show. Jeff actually looked at her while he was singing 'Remember the Mountain Bed' and made a comment after the song. She was completely oblivious and never stopped yapping, but couldn't take away from the magic of this show.

Many highlights like everyone mentioned here; hearing 'Poor Places' acoustically really blew me away. The kid from the audience who played a few chords onstage with Jeff was a fun moment too. These shows are really something special and I wish anyone who doesn't think so should stay home.

  6. Hello everyone,

I know it's a little early but I would love to experience one of these shows. My wife and I are fans since the beginning and never miss any local shows, especially the solo Jeff shows. The last one we went to was at Emanuel Congregation and promised ourselves to make a run at the living room shows. If anyone out there is starting to put a group together for this please keep my wife and I in mind.Thank you pecora13@gmail.com

  7. Totally rockin show.Via Chicago into Bull Black Nova set energy the level high and they never came down. Many highlights One Wing was a big surprise for me . The transition from Poor Places to Spiders was a perfect example of what makes Wilco so beautiful and keeps me coming! I've seen Jeff solo acoustic three times in the past year and his shows are truly magical, but last night's show was the loudest, most rockines Wilco show I have ever seen! Thank you boys

I use Vuze (formerly Azerus) to download and FLAC frontend to convert FLAC to wav files and mkw Audio Complressio tool to convern shn to wav files. There are lots of folks on here probably more up to date than me, but these are easy to use and reliable...

    File Types

Shorten (SHN) is the lossless audio compression codec that we use.

FLAC is a new, free lossless audio codec which may supplant SHN in the future. It can support higher audio resolutions (e.g. DVD-A) and compresses CD-quality audio better than Shorten.

  9. I have watched a few, no denying that. But, I am not really interested in videos of shows. I am however, interested in the AUD sound tapes of shows. A year or so ago, I had a few Wilco shows, now I have over 50 dvds of archived shows. I actually work on finding, announcing, and archiving Wilco shows every day. So that is where my passion lies. When something comes about that may ruin our ability to get AUD tapes of shows, I get a bit nervous. If one looks at the banned band list on Dime A Dozen, one can see that we have it pretty good.

I'm able to download the torrents and play each tune individually but cant make a cd or send it over to my itunes, they just into my computer somewhere. Can you offer any help?
