  1. I don't think a band should ever plan setlists for the few people who catch 3/4 shows a tour. I'm sure that, when it comes to rarities, they consider what they played last time they were in town more than what they played last night in some other city. If the setlists are boring, don;t follow the band around the country. It's simple.

Like I said in my original post, my days of seeing multiple shows on a tour are done unless its a two night stand in one town. Do people on this board have a hard time reading an entire post?

  2. Then how about you give your ticket to somebody who doesn't care what they play? If you're so jaded before you've even seen them once on this tour, you might as well just stay home and let somebody else have a chance to see them.

I saw both the Toronto shows and the show at Merriweather Post Pavilion. The set lists were fairly similar and included some songs I would've preferred not hearing in favor of some rarer ones, but I was never bored or disappointed. Even some of the old standards have new life injected in them (the latest arrangement of Poor Places is the best version of it I've heard them play), and the fact that they haven't been playing Heavy Metal Drummer and I'm the Man Who Loves You every night shows they're switching things up a bit.

This tour isn't like the Evening with tour, where they were aiming for variety and digging up rarities. They're promoting a new album, so they're still figuring out how the new songs fit with the old ones. That said, haven't they played every song from TWL now?

Tonight will be show 4 of the tour. Call me jaded, call me spoiled, call me whatever you want. I still love this band, but I was just pointing out a fact.

  3. Yeah, opening last night's Ryman show with "Less Than You Think" was just so predictable...

One song out of twenty five. Like I said in my original post, 20 of the 25 are easily predictable.

  4. So, it means my days of seeing multiple stops on a tour are done. Maybe a two nighter like the this past weekend, but no more hitting up 4 shows a tour.

And it takes the excitement out of seeing a band when you already know what they are going to play.

  5. These guys are getting pretty predictable.

All songs might not be in the exact spot. But I am positive we will get at least 20 out of these 25. Wilco is still fun to go see, but very predictable.

Check that. 20 out of 24.
