I did kind of go off on a rant there, didn't I? Well, its a scary world for small time music journalists right now. The announcements that No Depression AND Mojo were closing up shop back to back was intense. As the world converts to getting their news online more and more, mags keep losing advertisers and either closing or dropping their pay fees for freelancers. So, I decided to follow the old addage of "do what you love and the money will come later"... hence, split hairs.

the idea is to have a music NEWS site- and news that lots of people would be interested in. Its not necessarily a reflection of personal taste. Fuck, in the blogging era it is quite difficult to find ANYTHING that hasn't already been plastered all over the www. I am a publicist and freelance writer (yes for real magazines) and thankfully have a lot of contacts so I hope to find more exclusives in the future.

Well, I thought that was pretty cool news too. Yeah, this event was held by the coordinators of Rock Boat, and Emerson was there promo-ing his solo album. Other inside sources have said that he was being coy- that a Tonic album is DEFINITELY in the works. I will update you as I find out more.
