should've gone to the Royal Oak show in Detroit earlier this month, but hopefully I'm going to the Ann Arbor date on this fall tour to make up for it.

  2. anybody know if royal oak is a good venue to see a band like wilco in? i'm seeing animal collective there in a week or so, and i'm surprised a higher-tier band like wilco is playing a venue that a smaller band like AC is.

  3. i watched this today, and i think it was a little light on the songs, as well as a little light on the documentary-style footage.

it just seems like a very light package.

  4. Ashland/Bayfield is amazing. Go to Madeline Is (my daughter was named for it), cruise the Apostle Islands. Amazing light houses, the islands are incredible. Lotsa hiking. The South Shore Brewery is awesome. :thumbup

I think my family may be going on summer vacation in Wisconsin next summer, so I'll definitely check those places out, thanks!

  5. i've seen the band three times, and last night was the best yet. "She's a Jar" was my favorite thing I've ever seen.

Also, did Jeff really tell that guy early in the show to "shut the fuck up?"

All in all, worth the 11-12 hours of driving I did. Didn't get in bed to 6am.

    PS.

Winston Legthigh, the direction you gave me on how to survive Chicago rush hour probably saved my life. I-294 was mostly clear, until it hooked back up with I-94, when I got stuck for about half an hour. Had I taken I-94 the whole way like I orginally planned, I probably would have missed the whole show. Thanks again!

  6. Nice, I'm from Purdue

I'll be there, my first Wilco show ever

have fun at your first show, Nudist!

i wish i could make it out to this. I'm from Ball State and it's only a few hours away, but I have night class that I absolutely cannot miss, so I opted for the Wednesday Milwaukee show instead

  7. That's the theory. I think traffic is going to be a clusterfuck either way, but less so if you take 294.

Remember to bring cash for the tolls! I'm sure there's a website that'll tell you how much you'll need.

oh! thanks for reminding me, i would have totally forgotten.

thanks for the help, Winston, seriously.

  8. you're asking how bad chicago traffic is during rush hour? ay yi yi...

I'd look into skirting the city and taking 294. You don't want to be in stop and go traffic near downtown for hours... I've been there, and it sucks.

alright, i checked out 294 on google maps. it's only like 3 minutes out of the way. and i'd be avoiding the brunt of the traffic by going that way?

  9. tomorrow, i'm leaving central indiana around 2:30 (IN time, i belive in milwaukee it will be 1:30). if i reach chicago by 4-5 (chicago time), how bad is rush hour going to be? i'm nervous about making it in time.

i'll probably be taking I-94/I-80 through the city.

  10. i might not have laughed very much last night, but i at least found the episodes tolerable instead of actively hating them. i'm interested in how they're going to keep this paper company storyline going.

also, ryan as that burnout bowling alley employee was great. it's totally unbelievable but probably the best part of those episodes.

also, some new characters are nice to have in the mix, since this show, even if it had continued to be funny, would have gotten a little stale.

  11. hopefully this summer they'll play alabama, because i want to go on a road trip with my younger brother (who has yet to see the band), since i've always wanted to drive there anyway. I just don't have the time or money to go to their date in the spring.
