Thanks for the airport info! It's extremely useful given my ignorance of New England
Hope I can make it out in June!
cheers,
Ana

Oh boy.
I finally decided to give this a shot and now i feel like it's WAY over my head...
I'm travelling from Southern California to the East 'coast' for the first time and am confused on even which airport to fly into (!?)
Anyone have an extra spot on their campground that I can rent? It's definitely the route I'd rather take to get the most out of this trip but am a little weary of camping solo, especially when VCers are going to be communing nearby!
If you are part of the VC camping caravan and have a spot for one more please message me.
cheers,
Ana

My admiration for 30 Rock just grows and grows- the Wilco line was either too accurate to be funny or too funny because of accuracy. I laughed (and groaned a little). In the long run, just love the music and all else will fall into place.
I feel exactly like you do but didn't know how to make it into a sensible statement.
I think anyone could respect the musicianship of the band members and the integrity of the lyrics--those types things know no racial boundaries.
cheers

I second "Don't think twice"
Definitely one of my favorites.

It's going to be "One Wing."
Spoiler?! haha, can't wait!
I'm still bummed I wasn't able to get tickets! so close, yet so far...

I had seen the Beavis and Butthead clip with the "Box Full of Letters" video a few months back, but never thought to look for other "old" videos until today...
and, oh boy, there are more than I expected. It seemed that Wilco was trying to be mainstream at the time, and that now they're not occupied with that at all and not even making videos (which I actually prefer, anyway).
So, I saw BFoL and it was good, and then I watched this:
and couldn't believe how ridiculous it was... just, wow.I had to share!
What are your thoughts on these videos and the fact that they don't make them anymore?

For those out in Los Angeles who are looking to attend the taping here is some info:
You'll notice on that link that Wilco is not listed, but they were there about a week or so ago as being on the 3p.m. taping at CBS Television City in Los Angeles on this Thursday the 28th.
(I attended a taping for Ferguson in 06 and I also ended up seeing Craig Kilborn before he left in Dec 03.)
We get to sit through Rosie O'Donnell to get to Wilco.
it doesn't allow me to select a date before Feb 8th... does that mean they're sold out? grrr...

When they get name dropped in a Judd Apatow film.
hahhahaha, this one's gold.
Honestly, I live near LA and am stuck struggling even more now to get tickets because a few hundred dim-witted people heard about Wilco in a mainstream movie. It's good for them to make their money's worth, but I guess I'm just possessive like that... or would rather go to a concert where the rest of the crowd is as excited as I am to be there. grumble grumble.

I'm fairly new here so I don't know what the rules are on posting photos, or what you all think about it, but I was hoping we could have a forum to post all pics Wilco... either professional (with proper citing) or amateur, old or new.
Any objections? or contributions?

how long has that gas station chain been around?
also, any idea where the band got their name?

I don't think the stream is up anymore....maybe just a temporary glitch with Wilco's server....?
i was hoping it was just me. we have to wait till June 30th now?!

I've loved Wilco for some time, but only recently have become incredibly and inexplicably obsessed. I'm enjoying this thread so much-you guys are AWESOME
Which brings me to.....#453. You've considered starting up a dating website....wilcomatch.com. (Only partially joking there...it's not necessarily a requirement for me, but it would be nice to share something that is such a big part of my life.)this is a better idea than you think... I wouldn't feel so weird swooning if I had someone else on the same page
If you blast Wilco from your car hoping it will show up in Heard while out and about. If you leave Wilco playing on your stereo when you leave just so you have something good to listen to immediately upon entering your dwelling
are you spying on me?

i had assumed Jeff wrote it for Spencer so this is a shocker.

In "One Wing" is it 'we' or 'wings?'
I always knew this would be our fate
This is what happens when we separate
This happens to all dead weight
Eventually
it's definitely "This is what happens when we separate"
i'm so in love with this song right now... great for singing/humming all day

i'm in love
just finished streaming, and it feels so good

The lodge looks excellent and is totally affordable. I'll try my hand at a reservation and then work on the other puzzle pieces...
Thanks!
