  1. I've been trying to find an episode of The Tweedy Show in which Jeff discusses the intention behind "She's a Jar." I thought it was a really early one but can't find it.

I've also been going through the recaps but no such luck.

    Anybody know?

  2. Does anyone know what songs were broadcast on Wilco's show on Austin City Limits that was broadcast on November 3, 2007? Please let me know if you can.

    Thanks,

    Daniel

  3. Question for the hardcore (sorry for the length) - I have a live track of "Give Back the Key to My Heart" that doesn't have a venue/date. It has Tweedy dedicating the song after its performed to Doug Sahm because he "died the other day." Tweedy said “When we recorded that song…he said, we were playing sort of sloppy you know in Uncle Tupelo ‘you guys go ahead and do it your way, when I do my part, it’ll be perfect.”

Now since Sahm died in Nov. of 1999 I'd think it would be a show shortly after but I can't find a recording that lines up with the track I've got. Anybody know what show it came from?

  4. Does anyone know where this Jeff Tweedy quote about "The Lonely 1" comes from? -

"There’s two characters in ‘The Lonely 1’ and that’s the rock star and the fan, and that’s all it is to me. Music means something different to everybody and the stars are different to everybody. A lot of people don’t care who Ian Hunter is, but if I was in the same room with him, I wouldn’t be able to talk."

I can't seem to find it online.

    Thanks

  5. Hey -

I've been trying to find a copy of Wilco's appearance on Sound Opinions 9/18/01. I've seen a thread about someone looking for it before but I've messaged those folks and haven't gotten any response. I've even messaged Greg Kot about it.

Can anybody help me? Thanks in advance.

    - Daniel

  6. Since we're nearing Wilco's 20th anniversary I was wondering what folks consider to be their best ever, most essential bootleg recordings over the last 2 decades.

    My top 5:

    1. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot Demos & Outtakes

    2. The Troubador, Los Angeles: 11/12/96

    3. Their 5 night residency at the Riveria in Chicago playing their entire catalog: 2/15-2/20/2008

    4. Grant Park, Chicago: 7/4/01 (Jay Bennett's last show)

    5. Solid Sound Festival 6/21/13 (completely kick ass covers)

  7. Hey - Was anybody here at Sasquatch? I stayed up listening to the NPR broadcast and loved it.

I posted the setlist and Tweedy quotes from the show - My link

Hoping to read the impressions of the show from people who attended.

  8. It's not just "sort of behind" - it's way behind. I like the site a lot and would love if it was updated now. I'll keep checking it though.

You should be able to go to Wilcobase and get all the setlists you want. It's just sort of behind at the moment. All you need to do is say - "setlist courtesy of Wilcobase".

    Information wants to be free.

  9. Thanks. I will do so.

You don't have to credit me specifically or by name, but you could say you pulled it from viachicago.org or whatever sources you're aggregating from. The point is attribution should always be made when you're taking info from another source. Journalism 101. :shifty

I'm not always the person who happens to post a setlist—mdpoet did it just the other night—so I don't know what others prefer in terms of how they want to be credited. But I would think that if you at least said you obtained "x" info from this forum (or wherever you got it from), that would be a step in the right direction.
