  1. I definitely wont' give you "crap" for that, but the Boston "Evening With" show clocked in around 3 hours 15 minutes, and I could have stayed for another 3 hours!

Yeah see I was at that show....but I went to the RI Lupo's show which I think was 2 days before and that show IMO was way better...smaller venue, more intimate...by the time I got half way into the Boston show...I was like Ok.

I had a much better time at the Solid Sound show....it was a shorter show but every song was high energy and rocking.

  2. I don't think any of those songs need to be skipped...maybe Hummingbird but other than that i'd be kind of disappointed if I didn't hear the rest.

I also think..and I know I will get crap for this...that the last tour shows were way too long. I mean sure I love to hear so many songs but I think it takes a toll...on the fans and the band. I'd rather see a nice high energy 2+ hour show, if they played longer I probably wouldn't complain but I don't need it to be that long and some songs I just don't need to hear...maybe it was because I saw a few back to back shows also.

  3. yeah I was kind of wondering that myself. I know my friends and I situation is already crazy. We have like 4 sets of tickets and some people who bought the tickets are not even sitting in their own seats...so we have to form groups and go in and then switch tickets.

I imagine there is going to be a big line....I hope they have more than one window working.

  4. Tweedy - met Tweedy twice...both times in Portland, ME....the first time it was his wife's anniversary and he had just got off his cell and he was like "sorry guys on the phone with the wife, it is our anniversary"...like he wa apologizing...super nice. Just such a normal guy...it was funny because we couldn't stop seeing the band...at one point they were all across the street and this was when AGIB came out and they were mocking Tweedy's Hummingbird dance moves...it was funny.

Patterson Hood - multiple times....nicest guy you could ever meet. Goes out of his way to talk to you. Last year at Athens DBT weekend we were hanging out at their Nuci's space charity event and we sat in the hallway and talked about Dexter Romweber for like 10 minutes...because one of his albums was up for auction.

Jim James - hung out with all of MMJ after a show at the hotel bar. Super cool....there were probably 30 people in the bar, the band and their friends, crew and a bunch of my friends and some others...I talked to Jim for a little while. A friend of mine and I were driving the next day to see them play Levon Helm's barn and I told him that and he was so pumped for that....and then the next night at Levon's i'm standing on the stairway behind Levon's drumkit and he recognized me from the night before....we started to chat and then a few minutes later Levon is staring over and goes "you ready Jimmy?" and brings him up to sing "It Makes No Difference" which literally almost brought the barn down...that was an incredible weekend.

  5. At Toad Usually Tim Gearan Band A talented writer/singer/player Plays out at Atwoods also(Wolf brought Springsteen over there just last week)

    Back on point..

    Here's my Problem w/ Jacob Wirth's

    37 Stuart St

    Boston, MA 02116

    (617) 338-8586

    Open Mon,Sun 11:30am-9pm; Tue-Thu 11:30am-10pm

Pre is OK but for out of Towners or people wanting a Place to Hang/Chill After No Go Wirths is Closed

I know Intermission is kind of Getting a Emerson College Hang; Both Faculty / Some Students but that's alright w/me

m/b we could do a Pre over Wirths Post @ Intermission as they are 100 steps from eachother

I read somewher Wirths Wood Bar* is the Oldest in Boston (actual the Wooden Bar itself)

Cool...Tim is actually a friend of mine. Yeah and his Friday Atwood's shows are great.

Yeah I was more thinking for beforehand....I didn't know they were only open that late. I have to work the next day and so do most of my friends (everyone is local) going so I'm not sure I'll be around for the post. If anything we might head back to the Somerville/Cambridge area but yeah Jacob's is a really cool place. Intermission is not bad...right down the road there are so places too...that area is also not the best for late night so I can see why Jacob's shuts down a little early.

  6. Hello Folks I fixed the Link to Intermission Tavern

and I am going to stop in tonight on my way to support local Folk/Rock/ Alt ect..whew,, music in Cambridge @ Toad

    will advise Thurs..

Who were you going to see at Toad? I go see music there all the time.

Just to throw in my cents I wouldn't recommend The Intermission for a meetup. I've been there a bunch of times and it is not really a great atmosphere for a meetup..just my opinion.

I'm going with about 10 people and we are going Jacob Wirths. Great beer selection, great food and abotu 5 minutes away. Here is the link http://www.jacobwirth.com/
