  1. Thanks for trying to answer my question. I hope this link below works. The sound isn't great, but it shows Jeff and Nels definitely playing together what I remember as the guitar break in Impossible Germany, but maybe I have the wrong song? I'm sure I've read articles where its referred to as a duet or duel. https://picasaweb.google.com/106386355235878108555/WilcoCharlotte2007?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCKiu_8GptfvAHw&feat=directlink
  2. I agree the crowd was bad, at least where I was, about halfway back. I could not believe people came to a Wilco show, even got reserved seats, not lawn, just to party, get drunk and act like idiots. All around me people were talking to their friends and not listening to the music. It was like a bar band crowd and Wilco deserves so much better. I am ashamed of Raleigh. I've seen Wilco live in other towns around NC and never experienced this. Have no idea what was up, why such a terrible crowd..
  3. When did the famous 'guitar duel' on Impossible Germany become a solo performance by Nels? In Charlotte, right after that record release, Jeff and Nels played to each other as they seem to do on the record. In two shows since then (last night in Raleigh and two years ago in Cary, NC), Nels plays that break alone. It's even referred to by people as a guitar duel or duet between Tweedy and Cline. I can't find an answer in any interviews. Anyone know?
