  1. I recorded the show and it will posted at nyctaper either tonight or tomorrow morning.  I'm waiting for photos from my friend who took 100s of amazing shots.

    Awesome!

Watching some videos, "Who Loves The Sun" is just meant to be covered by Wilco. It'd fit perfectly well on Summerteeth.

  2. Just to add my two cents and be that guy, but the brown M&m's had nothing to due with diva behavior. It was Van Halens way of checking to see if the venue read their rider. They had a big stage setup among other things And if something was overlooked in putting it together people could've gotten hurt or worse. So if they saw the brown m&m's (the clause of which was way down in the rider) they'd know to check everything else.

  3. OK, for M. Christine (and anyone else that might care), here was Jonathan Richman's set from last night — at least as best as I could decipher it:

    No One Was Like Vermeer

Let Her Go Into The Darkness

new song-We Had A Fight Last Night

La Festa e Bomba? (Italian party song)>

Ja La? (Hebrew and Arabic party song)>

    La Fiesta? (Spanish party song)

I Was Dancing In The Lesbian Bar

    My Affected Accent

Her Mystery Not Of High Heels And Eye Shadow

O Moon, Queen Of Night On Earth

    Keith Richards (w/"fast" reprise)

Regarding the foreign language interludes, Richman would preface each by saying something like, "If this song seems like it's in Italian, don't worry; it's just 17 different ways of saying 'It's a great party.'" And so on for the other languages...

It will be interesting to see 1) if Jonathan gets a little more time as the tour goes on (probably dependent on venue) and 2) how much his set varies from night to night (he's got so many songs and doesn't seem to use a setlist, so each set could vary at least somewhat...which would be cool).

Nice setlist from Jojo. Seeing him opening for Wilco must have been so great. Hopefully him touring with Wilco will get more people into him. He's a national treasure.

  4. I'm not sure if this has been discussed already but there's an interview where Jeff says that each of the songs on Wilco (The Album) are sort of a re-visit to the past eras of Wilco & I was wondering.. if you could place each song from WTA on a past Wilco album, where would you put them?

The only surefire ones for me are..

    Sonny Feeling - Summerteeth

    You Never Know - A.M

One Wing - Sky Blue Sky

Bull Black Nova - A Ghost Is Born

You And I - Sky Blue Sky

I think it's an interesting idea. I'd like to see what everyone else thinks.

I was thinking the same thing when the album came out. Glad I was proven to be right :)

I agree with all of yours but You and I I feel like its more Summerteeth(?).

    also I'd say:

    Wilco (the song)-Yankee Hotel Foxtrot

    Deeper Down-Yankee Hotel Foxtrot

    I'll Fight-Being There

    Country Disappeared-Sky Blue Sky

    Solitaire- Being There

    Everlasting Everything-A Ghost Is Born

I think its really cool that they made the album with their past albums in mind. And thinking about it there really arent' that many bands that could do something like that. When it comes to having each album having its own singular sound I think the comparisons to Radiohead make a lot of sense.

  5. Just discovered this is on Spotify. There are some amazing songs on this. I know Billy isn't everyones favorite (I love him so :P) but "Union Prayer" is just as good as anything on the other two album. The fiddle on it is so haunting. As a huge fan of both parties involved this is an unexpected treat.

  6. Kelly Hogan added! Plus Schedule and single day tix available.

Friday tickets are $30. Saturday are $40. So awesome that wilco is getting 2.5 hours to play, I was worried they would only get about an hour plus.

  7. So if anyone's wondering here's the day by day break down for the majority of the lineup.

    Friday:
