  1. So happy to get this, in fact it is a dream come true, like most I have heard a lot of these, but at least their from a real compilation and put together by the band because i'm too lazy to look for these songs and put them together myself! lol  :banana

  2. Has anybody here pre-ordered from Nonesuch? If so, has anybody gotten any email on their order status yet? Saturday's almost here, and i thought that they would've sent it out by now.

I pre-ordered from them as well, but no word, or email, sometimes it happens, and you are loved, and then your not loved.

  3. I went with nonesuch, regular standard shipping is free, the total was $36.00, i was sold on getting the mp3's included on the day of release and the exclusive print. not a bad deal with this bundle.

On the acclaimed Mermaid Avenue albums, Billy Bragg and Wilco put music to lyrics by folk legend Woody Guthrie for which he had not written music or made recordings. Tweedy and Bragg were "the perfect pair to conclude that Guthrie ... was a prophetic rock-and-roller with a whole lot to say," said the New York Times. On April 21, Nonesuch will release Mermaid Avenue: The Complete Sessions, which includes the original two volumes of Mermaid Avenue (the second re-mastered); a third volume with 17 previously unreleased recordings from those sessions; the 1999 documentary on the sessions, Man in the Sand; and a 48-page booklet with new liner notes by Nora Guthrie, lyrics, archival photographs, and facsimiles of lyric sheets and sketches by Woody Guthrie. Pre-orders include an exclusive print of Guthrie’s lyric sheet for “Hoodoo Voodoo.”

  4. I was reading this off the hollywood reporter's website and this caught my eye, here's just some of it here:

The previous night, McCartney and Shevell hit their share of Grammy afterparties, including Warner Music Group's bash at the Chateau Marmont. There, McCartney and the Mrs., who had changed from a red carpet gown into jeans and boots (McCartney also offered his jacket for the chilly L.A. night), were spotted cutting a rug on the dance floor to the tune of Michael Jackson -- Macca with fists in the air. Houston's breakout hit "How Will I Know" was also pumped through the speakers, eliciting the loudest cheer of the night.

After catching his breath, the two were later introduced to members of Wilco who were flabbergasted to hear from McCartney that he had watched their Austin City Limits performance on television.

anyway, that's all it had said, wonder which members of wilco it was? sounds pretty cool!

  5. You can get "Dawned on me" (live in chicago) when you sign up for the wilco world emails, even if you already get them you can still sign up for the free download. just thought i'd pass it along.i found this on the wilco spinach site, where there are various items to click on.

  6. I've have a blu ray player, that gets internet like you tube and i have my dvd recorder hooked up as well,so last night, i recorded the tiny desk show, it came out really nice and clear audio/picture. if it hasn't been done already, i can send to someone here and they can copy and pass it around. nothing real fancy just on a dvd+r disc. i played it back and it's really enjoyable to watch. anyway pm me and i can send it to someone. sorry if this is posted in the wrong area, it's been awhile.

  7. Ok... So I preordered the digital download of the "Whole Love" album thru the Wilco website (which is the KungFu store). This is not the only album I have preordered thru KungFu.

However, *all* the tracks downloaded from the KungFu store for this particular album have a minute of silence at the end of each and every track!! I thought there was something wrong with the tracks and even burned two CDs trying to figure out the issue... Finally, I checked the time/length of each track against what Amazon has listed -- and each track from KungFu is a minute longer than it should be and contains nothing but silence at the end... WTH?

For example, "Art of Almost" from the KungFu store is 8:19 (which includes that minute of silence at the end). The actual track is only 7:16 in length.

The track "I Might" is 5:03 from the KungFu store (again with a whole minute or so of silence at the end). The actual track is only 3:58.

    Etc etc.

Why is this? It's super annoying. I have to skip ahead at the end of eack and every track to get to the next one unless I want to listen to a minute of silence after each and every track.

Did anyone else have this issue?? Why does KungFu suck so bad? I had an issue with my Ryan Adams preorder with them recently as well...

    ACK!!!!

This has to be wilco's next title"WTH?"

  8. I just bought the lp version, but as i downloaded my mp3 copy of it, come to find out, as i looked at it downloading, it said sixteen tracks so i got the bonus tracks free i guess, which was nice, and i'm very happy about the album,it sounds so good, it's a really great return to form i think. been playing it over and over.haven't even received the vinyl yet, very looking foreward to it.
