  1. Looks like we're nearing a sellout (not surprised). I had one inquiry regarding the lodging/tickets so far, but nothing solid. If *anyone* is interested in rooming at the 1896 house and hasn't committed to the three day pass already, feel free to ping me. I'm willing to deal on this, since my daughter is expecing in July and won't be up to making the trek to North Adams. This will be the last time we front $$ for my kids to attend. Looking forward to the show, though & the 1896 House looks like a cool place to be now that the OG Williamstown Hotel (which was pretty chill, albeit dated) has been leveled.

  2. Hi! Long time Solid Sound attendee here. Due to our daughter's upcoming joyous occasion, we have two extra Early Bird 3 day passes and a unneeded reservation at the 1896 House Country Inn & Motels for Thursday, Friday & Saturday night. While there seems to be a few three day passes being offered on FB, I'm reaching out to the Via Chicago group first. If *anyone* is interested in taking over the 1896 House reservation. I'll sell the early bird tickets at a discount (below face value). This is perfect if you missed the opportunity to snag a comfy room for the festival. Last SS I slept in the dorms and to be frank, that sucked.

The reservation is for "Quad room-Ensuite-Standard-Brookside Traditional Double – Room Only  2 Adults, 0 Child". Ping me @ badenovs@gmail.com if interested.

  3. Outside of Philco, the Sacred Rose fest was farcical at best. Luckily we paid extra for "VIP" tickets (lol). At least that afforded us, if not a better sight line, more distance from the EDM tent situated on the right and behind the Canopy stage. The fest itself was poorly run and over hyped. I'm just glad we didn't accidentally leave a $200 tip at one of the cashless bars that pervaded the fest. I guess decimal points weren't allowed!

Yep, the app sent out notifications in real time for the Pop Ups. And there were several TV screens in the main building near the cafe/elevator that had all of the social media posts.

JUST noticed that this screenshot captured my Instagram/Tweet about Terry & #nrbq (I'm Stan T. Man). Cool!

Any updates on the Solid Sound App? I downloaded it but it's still filled with 2019 doings.

Hey friends, I've decided to gracefully bow out of SSF this year, just don't want to get stuck in a foreign country if I pick up COVID. I have an affordable AirBNB in Williamstown and I am cancelling right now, if anyone wants it, it should pop up in a few minutes.

Just picked up a reservation @ MCLA Dorms – Berkshire Towers. This means I will be yielding my room reservations in Pittsfield, MA at the Hilton Garden Inn. Price is a little less than the Berkshire Towers, so I'm trading off creature comforts for proximity to Solid Sound. If there's anyone who is looking for a comfy place to stay, let me know & I'll see if I can transfer my reservations before cancelling them. I'll bet there's a waiting list!

Still have my tickets available, but I've been contacted by someone who wants to buy just one ticket. Anyone out there also looking for just a single? Message me, maybe we can make this work. (But you'll have to work out the hotel reservation thing between you; I only have one room booked.)

Looks like Pittsfield is the place to be... I will have approximately three presale tix for SS & a room in Pittsfield (two queen beds) if my wife and kids bail (95% sure they will).

some of you may know Rob and Crystal Janes. Rob and Crystal were injured on their way to SBS in a horrific accident that took the life of one other passenger.

As an 80% joke/20% legit proposal, I suggested to my wife that the Wilco universe should have worked out a deal where Wilco agreed to cancel, forcing a refund, if ticket holders agreed to bail them out financially by handing over 50% of the refunded price to cover a portion of Wilco’s cancellation penalty via gofundme.

People set up gofundme’s every day for way less worthy causes.

It's a freakin' mess... Wilco's name gets tarnished due to Cloud 9's intransigence. After all, we signed up for Wilco's Sky Blue Sky, not Cloud9's Sun n' Fun with Omicron. Not blaming Wilco...

  10. Ugh, taking the afternoon off from work to deal with trip cancellation and then trying to deal with the trip insurance angle. I will probably be brain dead after all this... Too much money to invest in too much uncertainty. My wife has been the strongest advocate for Sky Blue Sky and the experience so far has been a huge turn off for her. She rallied a bit after last weeks Tweedy Show, but there are too many stories from different sources about families stranded in remote locations because of a false positive test. I'd feel more confident about going if I had more concrete proof about what everybody involved is doing about providing a safe, supportive experience. Instead, I hear conflicting stories... and frankly (not evidenced in the viachicago forums, natch), the conduct of other attendees in the FB forums has made us question who we want to be with for a week of sun, fun and omicron.... (present company excluded). Looking forward to a redemption of sorts in North Adams this Memorial Day Weekend. Hope to have a fourth Shot In The Arm" by that time

  11. So, any word on whether or not Mavis is appearing? I'd think she's got to have underlying health issues that would preclude her from appearing...

Buried in bottom/ middle  of “Welcome” email 30 minutes ago. TIL that the additions to the lineup are friends with Cloud9. Seriously, hope all are well. 😷data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAPABAP///wAAACH5BAEKAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAICRAEAOw==

    MUSIC & ACTIVITIES AWAIT!

The 2022 schedule features four incredible days of music and activities in the fresh air on the Caribbean coast! Sadly, Waxahatchee, Mountain Man, and Julian Lage are no longer able to join us in Mexico but we are grateful to welcome our friends Soccer Mommy and Ohmme (with Spencer Tweedy on drums) who will now be joining the fiesta. In addition, Nels Cline will present a rare solo performance featuring his avant-garde and experimental electronic soundscapes.

  12. Due to my wife's health issues we will be forgoing attending Sky Blue Sky this year. We have the Premium Deluxe Gold - Double Beds package and the additional pre and post night. So if anyone would like that package, let me know. Willing to bargain; otherwise we have to wrasse with the trip insurance. Total cost of the package is $5,306.00. So, if someone would like to take advantage of the extra  pre and post days to round out their Sky Blue Sky experience, shoot me a message here or at Stan @ Greendoch.com

    Willing to negotiate

  13. Interesting, if you visit the resell site there are two purchasers queued up to by Saturday passes @ $245, yet no purchasers for the three day passes @ $175 each. I've emailed Lyte support to see what's up. I have two extra three day passes to sell.

  14. The Q set was one of the better latter period sets I've seen from that lineup. That said, I miss Joey (and Johnny), Big Al and... RIP Tommy & Fergie.

different strokes.  for my money Wilco and NRBQ are two of the best live bands out there right now, but nuthin's for everyone
