  1. Dinosaur Jr. would be excellent...

I really hope this one happens. I'm missing them in Raleigh because they play the night after Flaming Lips play and the misses won't give me a second hall pass in one weekend...Their new release is great (as they always are).

Dinosaur Jr.! It's their hood, after all.

  2. Lord knows me loves the Q. They put on a great show! Klem Klimek's vox on "Get a Grip" was the highlight of a stellar set.

Can't access this image from work, but here's a snap of the missus with Terry: Link

bring back NRBQ.  rediscovered them at the last SS and have seen them 5 or 6 times since then and boy do they bring it.  every show unique and top notch.  would also love to see Lucinda or bob Weir headline Sunday,

  3. Jarmusch did a great job with the doc, loved the mixture of styles esp. the animated segments. That & the Post Pop Depression live CD & DVD made all of the 2016 losses a wee bit less painful.

I went to see Gimme Danger over the weekend. This is the documentary on Iggy and the Stooges. I would recommend to rock n' roll fans. The movie just focuses on that band. There is really no coverage on anybody's post Stooges career or their personal lives.

  4. Looking forward to the lineup reveal in the coming New Year... Solid Sound is kinda like attending a June wedding. Something old, something new, something borrowed something blue(sy). Would love to see artists like Kurt Vile, Tom Verlaine, Richard Lloyd. Charles Bradley if his health allows. Alejandro Escovedo & the Burn Something Beautiful Band; or, barring that, The Minus 5 (Down With Wilco!). Or how about the Feelies/Trypes/Speed the Plough?

  5. As someone who plays out infrequently and practices with my band (at best) once a week, I still work off a binder of lyrics, mainly for reference's sake. I've always had issues memorizing lyrics, and when I was acting, lines. Always envious of those who have a photographic memory. So I judge performers less harshly in this regard. Still, those of us who do use some type of lyrical prompting best be rehearsed enough so all that we need to do is glance down for a reminder. I don't care for performers who nose down continually and disengage themselves from the audience.
