  1. Me and my girl are going and I'm very excited to see the boys in Oxford on a Tuesday night, and then that Saturday I'll be going to see an old favorite, Widespread Panic w/Jimmy Herring!!

Anyway, when I ordered tickets I think it said tickets would be picked up at will call, I remember printing out an order page. I'll check when I go home for lunch, to make sure I'm correct. Either way, if your tickets don't show up be SURE to have your Credit Card and ID, I've had this problem a few times going to shows, usually with ticketbastard. But as long as you have some type of documentation and/or raise Hell, you'll get a seat. Good luck.

The thing that actually worries me is that my mother ordered these tickets for me for my birthday. I could take her credit card up there with me, but would they give me grief since the card isn't mine? I don't imagine so - we have the same last name and all.

But yeah, I'm not big on travelling (only 3 hours, but still) without tickets in my hand.

Sorry if I duplicated a thread, I checked a few pages back and didn't see anything. Guess I missed it or just didn't look far enough.

  2. So who's going to be seeing the guys in Oxford on October 10? I'm pretty pumped about getting to see the guys, but also to return to my alma mater and tear it up for a night.

On another note - I still haven't gotten the tickets I ordered in the presale. I sent an e-mail and was told they had problems mailing them. That makes me really nervous, even though they said they'd do their best to get them to me before the show. If that doesn't happen, they said they'd let me know and would have some at will call. Should I be worried? Anyone else had a similar problem before?

  3. I had the same problem getting tickets for the Oxford show. Tried to get four immediately, it told me there weren't enough. Even when I selected one, it told me there weren't enough.

It finally gave me two on the second row, and I didn't want to release those and try again for the four I originally wanted, so I just went with it.

Sucks, I know. Good luck to you.

  4. You know, we should've seen that Victoria's Secret ad coming. Doesn't anybody remember that Dylan said in an interview in '65 or '66 that he imagined the only thing that could convince him to break down and do a commercial for someone was ladies' underwear. Downright prophetic.

Course, I didn't really see the iPod one coming, but oh well. Good to see him with a guitar again.

And with that said . . . halfway done with Modern Times now. It's so good.

  5. Dear Pearl Jam,

please come back to the US and play Oklahoma/Texas/Arkansas/Kansas, which you apparently seem to have forgotten exist.

    Thank You.

Texas, Arkansas, etc . . . . I wish. Stone said in a recent web chat that they just hadn't sold tickets in the South and it wasn't really feasible to play there anymore. It sucks so bad, cause I'm in Mississippi.

But yeah . . . Interstellar Overdrive - they've been doing it for a while, as other people have pointed out. Heard it several times, but never more than the riff as just a short opening to Corduroy.

  6. same here.

    except x2.

I'm a big pearl jam fan and fan club tix for the last tour were about 120/pair.

Yeah, I'm a fan club member too, and I've been really disappointed with their ticket prices lately. They've significantly raised their prices for the past two tours. At least, they've raised them enough to where I, living in Mississippi, have trouble getting to see them when you factor in the price of tickets and travelling.

Anyways . . . I don't think I've ever used the Wilco presale, but I just got two tickets to the Ole Miss show. However, I had a lot of trouble getting them, and I was sitting there clicking refresh every 30 seconds waiting for the "buy tickets" button to show. Is this usual? I didn't think I'd have much trouble getting four tickets, but it seems like I was kind of lucky to get two.

  7. I went to school at Ole Miss, and I've been in the Ford Center - I saw Nickel Creek there - and I do not remember there being a pit at all. How strange . . . the pics on the web site don't make it look like there's much of one, but the floor plan pdf shows a sizable one.

Oh well, I got row b in the orchestra, so it's all good. Had to settle for two, though, couldn't get the four that I wanted. Who else is going?

EDIT: Nevermind . . . I kind of forgot how small the place is. That pit the floor plan's showing isn't big at all compared to the size of the place.

  8. Oh wow . . . I forgot about this.

I don't post much, but I do want to say this - I never liked his poems. Don't think I said anything last go round.

  9. Great show . .. . great set list. At Least That's What you Said wasn't played, though. But they did play Walken, Is That the Thanks I Get, and another new song (it had a line something like "maybe the sun will shine today"). Never heard a full band Is That the Thanks I Get, so that was cool, plus a great, uplifting ("We can make it better . . . ") song to close with. The other new song was pretty slow, and after it Jeff joked about how rockin' it was.

His quips about how he got smarter listening to Nels' amazing solo after "Ashes" were great. Jeff seriously screwed up the beginning of one of his Theologians solos, and the look on his face that he shot at Nels was priceless. Sort of a grin/embarassment . . . funny.

But, as mentioned, the best point of the night was when Pat came out during the encore and talked about how much it meant to him. Complete sincerity . . . . it was a great moment. And after that, he totally showed off the rest of the night . . . threw some great fills in during Hoodoo Voodoo, plus the windmills.

My favorite performance of them I've seen so far.

I'm dying to get a recording, if only so I can give it to the people who went with me as a memento for their first Wilco concert.
