Yeah for sure, and I think because it suited CMA's set so much the vibe kind of stuck for a while. I wonder if there just wasn't an appropriate venue available when it was booked. It was a top show though, it's an amazing sounding room (though I heard more from the amps on stage than the PA).

I was at the front and man it was weird at first being seated that close for a gig. Tried standing up but no one really joined in until the encore. I know Mogwai played there a few years back but it's so strange being seated for a rock gig in the stalls.

It was excellent once I got used to it though, and being like 3-4 metres away from the band at the most was mind blowing. I'm a musician and geeked out about being able to see how they actually play the parts right in front of me. Closest I've been for a Wilco gig which happily coincided with the best performance of Impossible Germany I've heard Nels play. Pat's playing on Bird Without a Tail / Base of My Skull was brilliant as well, and Jeff on Spiders was also a treat. Love an audience singalong to the instrumental parts as well.

First time I've seen Courtney Marie Andrews live. Her set sounded fantastic and her singing on You And I and California Stars for the encore was top. 

I've listened to it a few times with nowhere near as much attention as I'd like to give. It's like a late period Dylan or Neil Young record. They've long since gone past owing me anything, and pretty much anything they release I'll give some attention to.

This isn't hugely different from what Jeff was doing with Tweedy and his solo records. I don't hear the band like I did on Ode To Joy, or TWL, or similar. That's ok, I am absolutely fine with artists burning through their pandemic material whichever way they see fit. It's conflicted and slightly weird and I'll probably understand it properly in a few years. For now though, I like the sound of Wilco being this simple. I'm not sure I'm ready to go somewhere else yet myself.

I met David Grohl twice in the space of a month playing festivals and he was a tremendous guy. He is kind of the Mayor of Rock though.

This guy sounds like a total pro.

Note, that even with that big outbreak in Provincetown a few weeks back, nobody died as they were vaccinated. That spot is a lot more crowded than a Wilco show (and yes, the goal is no one getting sick from going to a show, not no one dying, but ideally neither happens). Fingers crossed...

It should be ok once your vaccination rate catches up. We seem to be doing fine in the UK now the younger age groups are increasingly dosed, that was the only group that was lagging a bit. I wouldn't blink at attending an indoor gig now.

What was the reason for the shows being moved outdoors, cases bad in those areas?

Is this done on Nugs now? Can't find it anywhere.

If anyone can help me out with the initial freak-out section it would be much appreciated, I can't quite work it out exactly. I can get close like some of the live versions but I'm trying to match the record.
