  1. From this weeks Daytrotter:

We're recording just a pair of sessions this week and those are with Gun Lake and....drum....roll....the raincheck session with WILCO. We're extremely excited about that one and it's all we need to make for a good week. Look for that one to post in early October, around the release date of their new album. We're looking forward to seeing how it will turn out, but we have high expectations.
  2. Dawes is on tour a lot.

Blitzen Trapper and Dawes are teaming up for a co-headlining tour of North America this fall. Smoke Fairies will also be along for the ride on the first half of the tour, and Belle Brigade will take over for the second.

Additionally, the two acts are offering a free tour sampler, which you can stream and download below the tour dates.

  3. It's really coming down to how badly I want a t-shirt. The bundles at the Anti store are 4 bucks cheaper with a dark blue instead of light blue shirt. The shipping fees of $11 seem exorbitant. Since I can get the iTunes preorder for $15 and the vinyl from Amazon for $24 all with no shipping costs, I would essentially be spending over $30 for a t-shirt once you add in shipping from Kung Fu or Anti.

My total was $54 for the vinyl/t-shirt bundle. I like to think of it as $25 for the vinyl, $19 for the t-shirt, $5 for shipping and $5 for a raffle ticket for the neat prizes.

  4. Could have gotten slightly better seats if I waited for the venue presale for the Atlanta shows. Good to know for next time. That being said, I'm perfectly happy with where I am now. Good times to be had regardless!

Yes, Row A for Night 2 popped up after a few tries.

  5. It looks like Ticketmaster has a presale for the Atlanta shows starting at 10 am Thursday. I do not know the password. Plus I noticed this:

ATTENTION FANS: As part of Wilco' effort to discourage scalping and keep tickets affordable, there is a strict 4-ticket limit per person. Multiple purchases are forbidden and violation of this policy will result in the buyer forfeiting ALL purchased tickets. All tickets will be WILL CALL ONLY and name changes will not be permitted. When arriving at the venue, simply show the credit card you used for purchase along with photo ID. When you receive your tickets, you must immediately enter the venue. No exit and re-entry from venue is permitted. Will Call opens at 6:00pm on show day and we encourage fans to arrive early to avoid delays entering the venue. Thanks for your cooperation & we're looking forward to a great show.

  6. This sounds neat

    • Singer-songwriter and producer M. Ward has been pulling heartstrings with his mixture of folk, blues and country music since 1999. He is a member of indie-folk band She and Him and the indie-folk supergroup Monsters of Folk. American rock ‘n’ roll band, Dawes will be opening the show. M. Ward will then perform solo and Dawes will join him onstage his backing band. Don't miss him at Minglewood Hall in Memphis, TN on September 20, on the U.S. Cellular Stage at the Bijou Theatre on September 23 or at Track 29 in Chattanooga, TN on September 24! Tickets are on sale Friday, July 8 at 10 AM.
  7. pre-order

Pre-order Califone's All My Friends Are Funeral Singers and receive loads of extras. Customers who pre-order Califone's All My Friends Are Funeral Singers will receive two 11 x 17 posters along with their order. Additionally, they will receive a download code which can be used starting on September 8th to download the album a month before its official release, and before it hits your mailbox. Included in this download will be the epic track "Lunar H," which is the 15 minute song that is exclusive to the double LP gatefold edition, and not available on the CD or digital release.
