stevej
What do I use: Fast Acting or Slow Blow? Does it matter? Anyone know? My amp is a Fender HotRod Deville.
squarewave
It depends on how the circuit was designed and what the designer/manufacturer call for.To answer your question on whether it matters, the amp can be seriously damaged if the fuse doesn't bow when and how the designer intended. You will ALWAYS want to repace the fuse with the exact same rated fuse. If you think someone before you tinkered with them, find an owner's manual or call or e-mail the factory for a replacement copy. BTW, a friend had a weird fuse blow on a Vox AC-15 and thought he was in for a tough task to hunt down a replacement. A few electronics suppliers did not have it, but the third 'Shack that he dropped into had the fuse for him. Edited March 18, 2006 by A_Wheel
