lavallster
I have never taped a show before, and I am sure many of you have, so I have a few questions: 1) Wilco/Jeff Tweedy is totally cool with it (as long as you don't sell it)? But what about the venue? 2) What is the best thing to tape with: an edirol recorder or an mp3 player? 3) any tips for getting the best possible quality?

Some tapers typically invest hundreds or thousands of dollars in thier rigs, consisting of mics, preamps, and a recorder. http://www.solorb.com/dat-heads/ is an OK place to start, though a bit outdated. An Edirol or a Zoom H4 would probably get you in the game with the best bang for your buck.-scott
