MeGustaWilco
So obviously posting a wanted ad in How to Fight Loneliness isn't going to do a thing and all the ticket broker websites are currently selling Hammerstein tickets for like $300. My question is, will there be people outside the venue before the show selling tickets? I know the box office probably won't, but I didnt know if people will be chilling outside selling them. I'm guessing if anyone, the people selling tickets outside will be the same evil ticket brokers trying to sell them for $300, but I'm really reallllly hoping I can score one ticket for a reasonable price. I'll be headed up to NYC from Borth Carolina for my college orientation for NYU that day and going to this show would pretty much make my life complete. So who thinks its a possibility I could get in without having to spend $300? P.S.- sorry if this was an ignorant/idiotic post. I'm not quite sure what the scene will be like

So who thinks its a possibility I could get in without having to spend $300?? Hammerstein is a great venue. I've seen a lot of shows there, most recently clap your hands on NYE. I've seen scalpers at every show right out front, they do charge ridiculous amounts of money, some sell fakes too. Got to love NYC! Anyway, your best bet is to watch Craigs list. I've scored hard tickets at decent costs there. I'll keep an eye out for you.
MeGustaWilco
Well, this is sad. I've been relentlessly trying Craig's list but am having little luck over there too. I'm determined to see my favorite band in the world, but I'm not really sure what to do. In all honesty I may just make a pathetic little sign and show up to the venue early and wait there all day. I just got paid yesterday and have reserved my entire paycheck ( ) for the "Wilco Hammerstein Ticket Fund," but even though I have the money now, I can't seem to find anyone who wants to sell a ticket under $200. Any ideas? People who are currently experiencing the same issue, feel free to complain. We should start a support group!

Any ideas? If you are willing to miss the first...say.. song and a half maybe, then it's likely you'd be able to convince one of the ticket sellers outside the venue to let one go for a price you can afford. Good luck-hope you catch the show
Jimbo Jones
Keep checking Ticketmaster's site in the days leading up to the show. They usually release more tickets for sold out events close to the day of the show. If you stay at it, you might get lucky and not have to pay a ridiculous amount of money for the ticket. Hodie
It's also really common for unused comp tickets to be released a few hours before the show, so waltz up and ask at the box office before you talk to a scalper.
larryt
I have been to many sold out shows at Hammerstein. its always worth a shot trying to get a ticket outside.my advice: do not deal with a typical scalper. try to find a wilco fan whose buddy or date could'nt make it. someone will always have a extra ticket. be patient, walk up and down the block, check out the corner, survey the situation. good luck/
