mpolak21
While 1-12-2003 San Fransisco show is probably old news to most, I found this review about one of my favorite gigs of the band that I have at work last night and I wanted to share it to anyone who missed it the first time around. Though college (apparently by your junior year they actually expect you to work) and the wrong girls at the afforementioned college (eh don't want to talk about it) got in the way of my plans to make an epic "A Ghost is Born" box set, I still eventually plan on editing down the nearly 20 disc rough draft list I made at some point. Until then I highly recommend to anyone who's new to the concert downloading to check out some of the 2001-2003 era shows, while you don't get the jawdropping stylings of Nels Cline. Leroy and Tweedy could certainly hold their own and personally I'd take Not For The Season/Laminated Cat over Spiders (unless they keep playing it the way they did at Bonnaroo) anyday. Here's the review link...http://www.junkmedia.org/index.php?i=500 --Mike btw.. the kid that's mentioned in the article that requested a then five minute and much more melodic version of Spiders (Kidsmoke) is our very own Kidsmoke's son.
