lizish
I caught a couple songs at the Rizdales annual Christmas show this past Saturday. I used to not like country music at all, especially anything even remotely connected to the torture that was Hee Haw, but now I'm loving a band that is about as hard core Buck Owens as one can get. The show took place in the afternoon at the Richmond, an old beer parlour hotel with amazing acoustics. What was most fun was chatting to and dancing with some of the regulars. Luckily I'm not in the clip below, but Kay, aged 78, is, and she does a proud Jig to 'Here I go'. The band plays at the front of the room against a window that faces the street. At one point there were people dancing outside in the blizzard that left half a metre of snow across eastern North America. Woot.
