Penguin Plunge

Dear People:

As several of you know, I (and caliber too!) have done the Jamestown Penguin Plunge for Special Olympics, with my best guy friend Tom. This year, because of my illness, I am unable to plunge, but I am supporting my plunge buddy, and good friend and Wilco fan Tom, and I hope you can do, if you are so inclined. Tom took me to my first game at Fenway, and has been like a bruddah to me since my divorce--watching all the games from 2004 with me at the bar, and drawing the uniforms on all the voodoo dolls during the world series.

 

He has been doing penguin plunge for over 20 years but this year he's not been able to raise the funds he usually does (I am a fundraising monster and usually raise the $ for both of us) and I am appealing to you folks to get him to his goal of $1000. The Jamestown Penguin Plunge draws hundreds of plungers into the ocean, and thousands of spectators, and raises around 80K for RI Special Olympics.

 

I'd be doing it if I could, in a bikini, even. But it will have to wait til next year. This plunge typically raises 80K for RI Special Olympics and I will sorely miss being a part of it.

 

Hope some of you can throw a few bucks his way--Since i am not plunging, i am making it my mission to raise the rest of his pledge. Next year Caliber and I will plunge and of course we will post pics.
