looking for a concert poster

Recommended Posts

My wife and I met in 2002 at a Wilco show in New York. We now live in Chicago and see Wilco every chance we get. I'm looking for a concert poster from the show we met 2002-10-17 at the Roseland Ballroom (NYC). Anyone know where I could find it? I looked all over online and couldn't find that one, many others are for sale.

Any help, please!

Well, sorry to not really be of much help, but the (old) link in my signature line that Renic mentioned was simply a link to a photo at gigposters.com of a poster I was looking for. My link said "If anyone knows where I can find this poster, please let me know. It was the first Wilco show I ever saw and I can't find it anywhere." Ultimately another Via Chicago member saw my signature line link and knew a friend who had it, who then sold it to me. :) So other than posting your thread here at Via Chicago as you have done, and checking eBay, gigposters.com, etc, I don't know. I've got a few ideas below which you may already have been-there/done-that, but here it is FWIW.

Did you see the poster for sale at the show, or are you just assuming there was one? The reason I ask is that some shows don't have posters made for them, although as Wilco has gotten bigger, they almost always have one now. But 2002 was a while ago. Wilcobase doesn't show any poster for that date, but that doesn't AT ALL mean one wasn't made. It did tell me there were 2 shows at that venue though - Oct 17 and Oct 18 2002, so that would make a poster more likely IMO.

This web site has a forum where people can list posters they are looking for. Check it out. http://www.expressobeans.com/

And this is a link to a poster made for the Wilco show a few days after your show, maybe you can contact that artist and see if they made posters for your show as well. http://www.concertposterart.com/poster/dis...-Concert-poster

Lastly, you might consider sending an email to TMM (link is found at Wilcoworld.net) and see if they have any knowledge of who was the poster artist for those shows. I guess it couldn't hurt. Then perhaps you could contact the poster artist that way.

Hey good luck to you! Let us know if you succeed, it's good to know other avenues for hard-to-find rock poster art.
