Haven't made it through all of this massive thread, but it appears that the buyer gave the guitar back to Renaldo.

I just clicked through the whole thread ... the guitar's still in customs so the guy hasn't been able to return it to Ranaldo yet, but he did get guest-listed to a recent show and met Lee et al backstage afterwards. SY have offered to reimburse him what he paid plus some extra.

 

He may have the guitar by the end of this week.

 

I didn't read much about all the other stuff surrounding the story, but I did catch something about the eBay seller being a police chief in Ohio who bought it from someone in California, and that person bought it from someone else, I think, and now the Sonic Youth people are making inquiries trying to trace it back to the original thief -- or that's the impression I got.

 

Anyway, cool story, and I hope Lee gets his axe back soon.
