Crowds and lines

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody - I'm headed out to the Wilmington, De show tomorrow night at Frawley Stadium. Just wondering if anyone can shed light on what the crowds have been like. How early would you recommend getting there for decent standing room position (ie toward the back near the soundboard). I know this would vary from venue to venue but I'm just looking for a ballpark (no pun intended) idea about how crazy people are going for good spots.

Thanks a lot for your help!

As someone who often is on the very crazy side of these things, here's a few general tips. Smaller towns have way less early GA crowds. What you really need to ask is what kind of spot or seat you want? If you're sit on the first row, well you want to be amongst the first there. In Delaware, I'd say 2-3 hours early would be plenty of time. I once showed up 5 hours early for a smaller town Wiclo show and no one else arrived for close to 4 hours. So, use your best judgement. Early lines are a good way to make new friends as well.

Were you singing The Lonely One to yourself. :)

At least during the summer it's easier waiting in line or at least more comfortable.

I'm guessing you haven't done this down south during the summer months? :lol

Yeah I hear you, but I was thinking of the Residency shows. You are right, southern summer's are brutal and I only experienced Southern Illinoisan' summers, which are bad enough.

I used to be bad at getting to shows early and being the only there for awhile. A few times my wife was with me. Now every time I want to get to a show early, she reminds me of those times. (Plus she's is usually right)
