Wild Frank
I picked up the most recent Mercury Rev album, 'Snowflake Midnight', the other day and it is seriously good. It kind of passed under my radar last year. Its kind of a different style to the recent albums, very atmospheric with plenty of nice beats. Tracks like 'Dream of a youong girl as a flower' and 'Senses are on fire' are top-draw. Anyone else here loving this record? I can't believe it got so little coverage last year when it was released. PopTodd
Love the band. Deserter's Songs is my favorite, but I have yet to hear the new record. Glad to hear something good about this, I will certainly pick it up at some point.
Wild Frank
Yeah, Derserter's Song's is a real classic album. The opening track, Holes' is beautiful. I'm not overly keen the the albums that preceded Deserter's Songs. 'All Is Dream' is another top record.
rsjbraz
Whereas for me the first three records are wonderful and everything after is as dull as dishwater, Yerself Is Steam is just such an incredible record!
mpolak21
I like Deserter's Songs a lot and the records that proceed it, it's been awhile since I've really gotten into any of their post-DS records but I'll have to check this one out. --Mike
willywoody
The most recent lp is pretty good, I like the 2nd side better than the first. It's definitely in the vein of their previous 2 lps, so lovers of earlier mercury rev take caution.
