jojo04
Does anyone know what the seating will be like at this show? The person I am going with bought their ticket separate from me and although we both have Mezz we were just curious about the arrangements.

curvemyflight
UIC Seating Charts: http://www.uicpavilion.com/event-guide/seating-charts.php I'm still not sure what the "Dance" section means. It says General Admission, but also has a row number and seat numbers. I'm guessing it's just G.A. on the floor.
jojo04
I guess what I meant was does anyone know if mezzanine seating was allowed in general admission.
Wendy
So you mean you have a ticket for a reserved seat up off the floor, and you want to leave that area and go down onto the GA floor? My guess is "no" for fire code and crowd control/safety reasons. I know any time I've been to an arena show like this (I'm thinking United Center), you cannot go down onto the floor without floor tickets, and the venue hires security people to stand at the bottom of the stairs checking your ticket stub. Now, have there ever been people to sneak by these security people? Of course. You said you have a ticket for the 19th. Floor/GA tickets are sold out, and it looks like mezzanine (first reserved seats elevated up off the sides of the floor are close to sold out, but only a few rows up in the upper balconyhave been sold. But ... that is just my hunch. For a definitive answer, you should probably call the venue.
LouieB
But ... that is just my hunch. For a definitive answer, you should probably call the venue. What Wendy says. Why on earth would the venue let people come out of the seats and on to the floor? Chicago has fairly strict laws since the E2 tragedy a few years ago, so crowd control is certainly something the University of IL is going to be concerned about. Trade off your seats for a GA ticket if you like, but don't expect to get out of the seated area into the GA, just isn't likely to happen; not to mention the fact that the GA folks aren't going to be too pleased with a "space invader" sometime during the show.
