rockinrob
I cant get this song out of my head, and I felt like I should share with you guys.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j86ioyMIRlk His name is Sean Costello. He is an amazing singer and guitar player grouped in with blues, but I think what he plays is really just music. His songwriting is awesome, and he actually plays great SONGS, not little excuses for guitar solos. This is from his self titled record, but his last record "We can Get Together" has been the only thing ive listened to for awhile. It is awesome. I think this verse is just so cool: I've been criticizedAnd in my life I've made a few mistakesBut don't write me offI got such a long, long way to goAnd I've been talked aboutAnd in my life I've had a few bad daysBut don't count me out, Because there is one thing you should know I got a light that keeps on shinin' in my mind,Day and night, it just keeps burnin' all the timeAnd there'll be no half steppin'I got to keep on pushin'There'll be no half steppin'I got to keep on pushin' all the time Enjoy! King, T Bone Walker et al would be surprised that the Blues aren't music. It's just a description based on call and response...not a disparagement. By the way...I agree that he's pretty good
rockinrob
I didnt mean it like blues isnt music. I meant that sean's stuff covers alot of ground, but he is labeled blues. He plays a little bit of everything. I think alot of people that think they dont like blues would like his stuff alot, but because he is labeled as "blues" that might turn some people off because of what that term has been stereotyped into being. cryptique
I remember listening to some of his stuff a few years back. I believe he died a couple years ago.
