sgtpepper64
I'm sure this has been covered before (especially because I once had a mp3 of it) but I'm trying to find the demo Jeff recorded with the lyrics: All my life, I've been waiting for someone to sayI've been waiting my whole life for you. What a great lyric. Wasn't it written as theme for a television show or something? Anyway, if anyone has any info, or anything I'd appreciate it. I tried to use the search function but came up empty handedbut that could be because I'm a complete and utter ass-hat. Thanks in advance.
Analogman
From the blog I Am Fuel, You Are Friends (December 3rd, 2007) Jeff Tweedy Here's a little forgotten piece of television history ripped from cassette thanks to the Good/Bad/Unknown blog. Back in 1998, Jeff Tweedy was asked to pen a theme song for the Christina Applegate sitcom, then-titled All My Life. The show title was eventually changed to be called Jesse and these tunes were left on the cutting room floor. But Tweedy wrote two versions, short and sweet, and you can get the other one on that blog. Wow, better than the Full House theme song, even. From the blog The Good, The Bad, and The Unknown (November 24th, 2007) First up, Jeff Tweedy's lost theme song to the failed TV show Jesse. Back in 1998, Tweedy was asked to do a theme song to a show called "All My Life." This show was brought to you by the producers of the uber-hit Friends and starred Christina Applegate, David DeLuise, Bruno Campos. Tweedy cut two tracks for the show...but was ultimately too edgy for a show that was being pushed as Friends - Part 2. All My Life was renamed "Jesse." The Tories eventually did the theme song. And after two years, the show was canceled.
sgtpepper64
From the blog I Am Fuel, You Are Friends (December 3rd, 2007) From the blog The Good, The Bad, and The Unknown (November 24th, 2007) Thanks for the links Analogman but I ended up finding the good, bad and unknown post and couldn't get the audio files to work. Now, I've checked out the Fuel blog and I can't get that link to work either. Maybe I am destined to never hear this again? Which sucks balls because I really enjoyed it... Analogman
I didn't figure the audio links would still be good, but at least the information is sill out there. I recall reading about the song when it appeared, but I never grabbed it.
