PopTodd
We went to see a movie at the theater over the weekend and there was a guy there wearing a "Reefer Madness" t-shirt. I commented on it and we laughed a bit. My son, a bona-fide film geek before he has even hit his teenage years, of course, had to know about it. When we got home, he jumped right on to Netflix, found it, and watched the whole thing. He loved it -- the whole kitsch factor.Immediately after, he jumped onto Amazon, found a used copy for 60¢, handed me his money (including shipping) and asked me to order it for him. It's on its way. (I have seen it, and know that there is nothing in there that he cannot handle. And, if you know the movie, you know that it does not glorify smoking.) This is the same kid that asked me to rent Touch of Evil for him when he was 9.
AJ673
Awesome! I am happy to report that his obsession has since moved to digging for worms in Mommy's garden. (Great!) We have always let the kids watch movies and play with toys that are above their age recommendation. We have always explained to them that movies aren't real. Hence, they thought Army of Darkness was the funniest thing ever. It was just so cute when a neighbours child came over to watch a movie one afternoon and my then 5 year old said "Now remember, movies aren't real. Music is real!" Would have brought a tear to her fathers eye!

PopTodd
He thought it was hilariously awful. As he should.
thingfishp
What, that wasn't a documentary? And we burned the evidence?!
