venuscantstopthistrain
Hi, new to the site. As a lot of you probably know Wilco added a second show at the Orpheum Theater. WilcoWorld had a presale this morning at 10:00 am. At 10:04 all the tickets were gone. Then I went on Stubhub (a few moments ago) and 50 tickets are on sale there for the show. 50. That seems like it probably matches the number of presale tickets available at the start. So that means every single damn ticket was bought by scalpers. The lowest price was $109 and the highest was $599. I guess this isn't a topic for this show really but about scalpers in general instead. How the heck are we supposed to beat them? I was literally there at 10:01 am and they were pretty much all taken. -A really pissed off Wilco fan.
tinnitus photography
i hear you, but can tell you that i am not a scalper and don't have the two tickets i bought today up at Stubhub.i did get shut out of seats last week (wed, thurs, and friday). well, i tossed back two pretty bad seats on friday, so i guess i could have bought two. but decided to test my luck again. all i can say is to try tmrw and friday as well. also keep in mind that they played the same venue 13 years ago and have played larger venues since then (B of A Pavilion, Tanglewood, Agganis, Wang). summerteether
-A really pissed off Wilco fan.Cherry Ghost, I feel your pain. I too went on the site for the Friday pre-sale...nothing. I was on at exactly 10:00. I sat at my computer and counted down with the clock. I then tried again on Friday and nothing, but a friend in the city went to the Orpheum box office at 9:30, stood in a line only 4 deep, and scored 2 obstructed view seats.I just went on for the second show...same f...ing thing. Jeff, I am a loyal fan who has attended every Solid Sound, drove up to Portsmouth to hear you with your son, and have gone to every concert in the greater Boston area. i was even standing in the soaking rain in Lowell, at the ball park, hoping the the rain would end and you'd come back. Why oh why didn't you set this concert up as you guys did at the Wang. Only 4 per buyer, no Live Nation seller, but a smaller sales site, and, once you were in the Wang, that's it. No scalping took place. It was perfect. This truly sucks!!!! but I still love you.
