  1. I was there! I loved how he rocked out on those songs. his band was great and the security guy was hilarious. it seems to be some sort of trend now for a band to have some guy standing and doing nothing, occassionally adding percussion and funny words. I loved his punching dance.

I was happy to hear them do something off Daisies of the Galaxy - I Like Birds. awesome show! Mr. Flick loved it too!

Also, Smoosh was really good, I was surprised! just keyboards and drums but they had a pretty full sound. one song had a Led Zepplin sound to it before they started singing. great show & great venue!

  2. daybreak. nightfall. long as I believe

there ain't nothing glowin like this skin you're showin

and the keys you gave to me

nightjails. poolhalls. some things are everywhere

so for the past I'm diggin a grave so big, it will swallow up the sea

oh I know... that it's easy... there's no trouble waitin for me

dancefloors. headlights. in my blood there's gasoline

for an urban boy on a dirty tour I never felt so clean

loaded questions in an automatic world

you just won't be seein the things you need,

as if you thought you would

oh I know... it's never easy... when there's trouble waitin for me

  3. Watchin' a stretch of road, miles of light explode.

Driftin' off a thing i'd never done before

Watchin' a crowd roll in. out go the lights it begins.

A feelin' in my bones i never felt before...

Mmm... people always told me. that bars are dark and lonely

And talk is often cheap and filled with air.

    Sure sometimes they thrill me

But nothin' could ever chill me.

Like the way they make the time just disappear

Feelin' you are here again. hot on my skin again.

Feelin good a thing i'd never known before

What does it mean to feel?

    Millions of dreams come real

A feelin' in my soul i'd never felt before... mmm...

    And you always told me.

No matter how long it holds me if it falls apart

Or makes us millonaires. you'll be right here forever.

We'll go thru this thing together

And on heaven's golden shore we'll lay our heads

  4. There was a boy

    A very strange enchanted boy

They say he wandered very far, very far

    Over land and sea

A little shy and sad of eye

    But very wise was he

    And then one day

A magic day he passed my way

And while we spoke of many things

    Fools and kings

    This he said to me

    "The greatest thing

    you'll ever learn

    Is just to love

    and be loved in return"

    "The greatest thing

    you'll ever learn

    Is just to love

    and

    be

    loved

    in

    return"

  5. Everywhere everywhere everywhere

It's all so plain it's all a plan

    The sky doesn't ever end

The air just gets much thinner further up

You could keep diggin' down and down

A thousand graves down without turnin'

    Around or finding hell

You find you're digging up again

    Everywhere everywhere everywhere

    Willful suspension of disbelief

  6. yeah the rain came

    i said hey buddy,

buddy the streets are a snake skin

    i belong

    out there walkin

    nobody's stoppin to bother me

    they hide

    outside, the ceilings

    cryin'

    listen to the sound

    of the gutters runnin

    wash this dirty town

    all fronts and no backs

    give me my time

    let me be

    outside

    under the ceiling

    cryin'

    yeah, all over me

    cryin'

    yeah, all over me

    outside you know

    i listen to the sounds

    of the gutters runnin

    wash this dirty town

    all fronts and no backs

    give me my time

    let me be

    outside

    under the ceilings

    cryin'

    yeah, all over me

    cryin'

    yeah, all over me

  7. Well Jimmy played harmonica in the pub where I was born

He played it from the night time to the peaceful early morn

He soothed the souls of psychos and the men who had the horn

And they all looked very happy in the morning

Now Jimmy didn't like his place in this world of ours

Where the elephant man broke strong men's necks

When he'd had too many Powers

So sad to see the grieving of the people that he's leaving

And he took the road for God knows in the morning

We walked him to the station in the rain

We kissed him as we put him on the train

And we sang him a song of times long gone

Though we knew that we'd be seeing him again

(Far away) sad to say I must be on my way

So buy me beer and whiskey 'cause I'm going far away (far away)

I'd like to think of me returning when I can

To the greatest little boozer and to Sally MacLennane

The years passed by the times had changed I grew to be a man

I learned to love the virtues of sweet Sally MacLennane

I took the jeers and drank the beers and crawled back home at dawn

And ended up a barman in the morning

I played the pump and took the hump and watered whiskey down

I talked of whores and horses to the men who drank the brown

I heard them say that Jimmy's making money far away

And some people left for heaven without warning

We walked him to the station in the rain

We kissed him as we put him on the train

And we sang him a song of times long gone

Though we knew that we'd be seeing him again

(Far away) sad to say I must be on my way

So buy me beer and whiskey 'cause I'm going far away (far away)

I'd like to think of me returning when I can

To the greatest little boozer and to Sally MacLennane

When Jimmy came back home he was surprised that they were gone

He asked me all the details of the train that they went on

Some people they are scared to croak but Jimmy drank until he choked

And he took the road for heaven in the morning

We walked him to the station in the rain

We kissed him as we put him on the train

And we sang him a song of times long gone

Though we knew that we'd be seeing him again

(Far away) sad to say I must be on my way

So buy me beer and whiskey 'cause I'm going far away (far away)

I'd like to think of me returning when I can

To the greatest little boozer and to Sally MacLennane

  9. Just a perfect day,

    Drink Sangria in the park,

And then later, when it gets dark,

    We go home.

    Just a perfect day,

    Feed animals in the zoo

    Then later, a movie, too,

    And then home.

Oh it's such a perfect day,

I'm glad I spent it with you.

    Oh such a perfect day,

You just keep me hanging on,

You just keep me hanging on.

    Just a perfect day,

    Problems all left alone,

    Weekenders on our own.

    It's such fun.

    Just a perfect day,

    You made me forget myself.

I thought I was someone else,

    Someone good.

Oh it's such a perfect day,

I'm glad I spent it with you.

    Oh such a perfect day,

You just keep me hanging on,

You just keep me hanging on.

You're going to reap just what you sow,

You're going to reap just what you sow,

You're going to reap just what you sow,

You're going to reap just what you sow...

  10. We had an apartment in the city,

Me and loretta liked living there.

Well, it,d been years since the kids had grown,

A life of their own left us alone.

John and linda live in omaha,

And joe is somewhere on the road.

We lost davy in the korean war,

And I still don't know what for, don't matter anymore.

Ya' know that old trees just grow stronger,

And old rivers grow wilder ev'ry day.

    Old people just grow lonesome

Waiting for someone to say, hello in there, hello.

Me and loretta, we don't talk much more,

She sits and stares through the back door screen.

And all the news just repeats itself

Like some forgotten dream that we've both seen.

Someday I'll go and call up rudy,

We worked together at the factory.

But what could I say if asks what's new?

Nothing, what's with you? nothing much to do.

So if you're walking down the street sometime

And spot some hollow ancient eyes,

Please don't just pass 'em by and stare

As if you didn't care, say, hello in there, hello.

  11. Once I had my heroes

    Once I had my dreams

But all of that is changed now

    The truth begins again

The truth is not that comfortable, no

    Mother taught us patience

    The virtues of restraint

    Father taught us boundaries

    The knowledge we must go

I'm trying to protect my unity

That's when I reach for my revolver

That's when it all gets blown away

That's when I reach for my revolver

The spirit passes by this way

A friend of mine once told me

    His one and only aim

    To build a giant castle

And in it sign his name

    Sign it with complete community

That's when I reach for my revolver

That's when it all gets blown away

That's when I reach for my revolver

The spirit passes by this way

Now that the sky is empty

    And that is nothing new

    Instead they look upon us

    When they tell me

    That we're nothing

    I say!

That's when I reach for my revolver

That's when it all gets blown away

That's when I reach for my revolver

The spirit passes by this way

That's when I reach for my revolver

That's when it all gets blown away

That's when I reach for my revolver

The spirit passes by this way

  12. If you want money in your pocket

and a top hat on your head

a hot meal on your table

and a blanket on your bed

    well today is grey skies

    tomorrow is tears

you'll have to wait til yesterday is here

Well I'm going to New York City

and I'm leaving on a train

and if you want to stay behind and

wait til I come back again

    well today is grey skies

    tomorrow is tears

you'll have to wait til yesterday is here

    If you want to go

    where the rainbows end

    you'll have to say goodbye

    all our dreams come true

    baby up ahead

and it's out where your memories lie

well the road's out before me

and the moon is shining bright

what I want you to remember

    as I disappear tonight

    today is grey skies

    tomorrow's tears

you'll have to wait til yesterday is here

  13. Artist: Fairfield Four Lyrics

    Song: Lonesome Valley Lyrics

You got to go to the lonesome valley

You got to go there by yourself

Nobody else can go for you

You got to go there by yourself

Oh, you got to ask the lords forgiveness

Nobody else can ask him for you

You got to go to the lonesome valley

You got to go there by yourself

Nobody else, nobody else can go for you

You got to go there by yourself
