  1. Satan Your Kingdom Must Come Down is also not a Jeff composition, but a traditional song. I would say he is, at the very least, skeptical of organized religion in its modern form. I am just basing this on lyrics, interviews, etc -- no official statement or anything.

  2. Both of these can be played by putting a capo at the 2nd fret, but leaving your low E string un-capoed; essentially creating a drop D tuning. From there, it's not too difficult to piece together Jeff's picking. To me, the solo Spiders is phenomenal -- the whole song just takes on a completely different personality than the rocking live version. Incidentally, if anyone has an mp3 of it, I'd love to have a good version. I saw him open with it in New Orleans and Atlanta in January this year.

    Thanks.

  3. I was thinking about going with the Baggs M1 as well -- I have a Santa Cruz 000-12. Glad to read the opinions here. What sort of amps are you guys playing through -- specifically acoustic amps or just directly into PA?

Also Kalle, how's the 000-15? I have been eyeing those lately. They seem like a relatively good deal for a Martin 000.

  4. After he talks backstage with Fred Armisen and before taking the stage in San Francisco in the movie, there is footage of Jeff backstage playing a few lines from a song with the lyrics "...perfume in the night...it's not even half as nice as you...I set my sights on one whispery kiss..." My friend and I were trying to figure out what song this is, and better yet, if there is a recorded version out there. This seemed like the best place to find out. Thanks in advance for the help VC.

  5. I'll go with 1/29/07 at the Tabernacle in Atlanta. After seeing him in New Orleans three days before, my wife and I changed our plans, got my parents to keep the kids, and went to this show on a last minute whim (thanks to StubHub.) Great venue, great crowd, great setlist, and Mr. Tweedy was in top form. Incidentally, if anyone knows of or has a recording of this show, I would love to have it! Thanks.

  6. He has been playing a Santa Cruz OOO -- In fact I bought one in January and it is unbelievable. However, he has been playing a Breedlove OOO on this SBS tour recently. I saw them in Atlanta at Chastain, and he used the Breedlove -- and I have seen several pictures and videos from the last couple of months in which Jeff has been playing the Breedlove. The two look extremely similar, except the Breedlove has a little more elaborate inlay on the slotted headstock. Also, the Breedlove website now has a welcome message to Jeff Tweedy, and they even say they are working with him on developing a new guitar. Can't wait to see what this turns out to be -- probably need to start saving $ now to afford it!

    Cheers.
