Yeah - absolutely. I don't think Albert has played Sweet Little Lisa live for some time unfortunately.

Any Albert Lee fans here? IMHO this guy is seriously under rated or at least under exposed. He's nearly 70 and every time I see him his playing just gets better - great voice too. I like it that whilst he's noted as one of the hottest country players out there he is more about country rock/rock and roll and definitely not country and western! He's on tour in Britain at the moment - plays Stafford Gatehouse Theatre this Wednesday. (26th Sept)

Gosh, I'm glad this thread has taken on a life of its own since my initial question.. I have a list of shows I now need to listen to ! Good work everybody...

I'll happily settle for : less = less if it means more stuff like A Ghost is Born

Beatles Songs You Actually Dislike
Choo Choo Charlie replied to lost highway's topic in Someone Else's Song
Aw, how can anyone dislike PS I Love You? :heartbroken When I was growing up I was always into the mid-late era (cooler) period Beatles but in recent times I find myself moved to tears by some of the early tracks. Anyway, here's my mixtape of Beatles C sides : Act Naturally Ask Me Why Boys Can't Buy Me Love (I really do not like this song) Eight Days A Week Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby From Me To You Get Back (just irritates me enough to make the list) I Don't Want To Spoil The Party I'll Cry Instead It's All Too Much I've Just Seen A Face (not the biggest fan of this) Kansas City -
Yes - I like that rawness. Stripping everything down with a slight feeling that "anything could happen/it could fall apart at any minute". Leroy was great in Wilco. (ps. I love your avatar BillLee!)
-
I thoroughly concur. Half Wilco / Half Loose Fur.

Well, I was just about to alter my moniker to Hyphen Envy but, alas, it's taken. Such a good song title! I might try again as Hyphen-Envy. In the meantime C-C-C, bonus points for the way you slipped those two R.E.M. song titles into your previous post - and all off the same LP no less. x (Now up to 30+ posts in 7 years)

Ok. Well, seeing as you are coming off as being pretty humourless by posting "Nice name" in the first place and your previous reply : Check my status. I joined this board some time before you with this user name. 2005 to be precise. I actually recall messaging you to say you'd (accidentally) adopted my user name (but you obviously didn't care to change it.) 28 posts now. Big deal. Seriously, grow up.

yes, I meant when Jay left not Leroy. I definitely remember reading something about Jeff having a laptop at his feet at some stage.. A great period when Jeff's guitar playing was the focus.
-
Hi - sorry if this has been discussed before. Does anyone remember the period just after Leroy left the band when they were down to a 4 piece and Jeff was supposedly using a laptop (at his feet?) presumably for some of the noise/fx. I wonder if anyone can provide more info about what the laptop was actually used for etc? I have a few old recordings of that era and really like the sparse sound.

You know I own you ! You're nothing with hyphens!

You're welcome !!

Jay's rendition of My Darling on the DVD is great. Don't dislike the Summerteeth version either. I always thought it was quite sad that Wilco didn't pay a proper tribute to Jay in the form of a concert. Re. Glenn - I much prefer his mini-kit work with Loose Fur. He's a great drummer who I think is even better when faced with less things to hit! Saying that - the standing on the drum stool party piece doesn't impress.
