  1. SchulbHub makes it too easy to become an ticket pimp in the comfort of your mom's basement. As with sports, it's just one more reason to stop being a music fan (at least of bands that reach that level). Of course, sports teams actually encourage it - I'm guessing they get a little taste, as well.

  2. Not much of a show year for the Tugger - new sked has me working nights wed-sunday, if that's an excuse. Only made it to the Beachland Ballroom once, I think (Hold Steady). Bruce left everyone happy at The Q. Neko 3 times - best in Columbus. A couple good Wilco shows not real memorable (Jeff was down on the Columbus crowd on Jesus etc., but that's not really a great singalong song). I'll try to do better in 2010 - I think Alejandro's at the Beachland in Jan. - would be a good start.

  3. Day game against the Nationals (means plenty of seats) the following Monday, the 12th. Hmm. Perhaps a long weekend will do.

maybe not "plenty." I think they played to 103% capacity last season. Probably the biggest crowd the Nats will see all year.

Any word on a Cleveland show? It'll be 2 years in Feb. since their last here.

  4. and that's when I taught her how to make rice and beans.

How do you make rice and beans? I wouldn't mind cutting my food bill a bit.

Downloaded a recent springsteen show at MSG, and when Bruce wades into the crowd, all you see around him are cellphones. No one's actually looking at him, they're looking at their cellphones.

  5. "A Face in the Crowd" is pretty fantastic.

Among my faves since I first saw it in 82. Griffith said he would never again play that kind of character again because he found himself acting that way to his friends and family.

Ironic that he's best known and beloved as a sheriff when his best performance was as a con man.

  6. Vertical Man had a track with Ringo, Paul, George H and George M - or they are just all on the album on different tracks?

    or further:

Has there been a post Lennon death track that featured the other 3 Beatles not including the Anthology stuff?

And when do we get to hear the mono "Freebird" (and that other song)?
