Know when to hit and when to stand, my friend.
That's all well and good as long as there aren't a bunch of jackasses sitting around you splitting K's and hitting 16 against a 5.

Great stuff on here.
Some of my other favorites that I didn't see mentioned.
Big Daddy Kane - Long Live the Kane
LL Cool J - BAD -
Ice Cube - Amerikkka's Most Wanted
Slick Rick - The Great Adventures of Slick Rick
and
The single and B-side of LaDiDaDi / The Show by MC Ricky D (Slick Rick) and Doug E. Fresh.
Ya smell me?

Rahsaan Roland Kirk is a guy that I rarely hear mentioned, but he is unbelievable.

I had taped this one off the Dead Hour years ago, wore it out, and was happy when it became an official release.
I'm digging this Buffalo 79.
Noice. I'm listening to the all Dead channel on radioio.com. Pretty good stuff.

Heard the version on DP 29, Lakeland, FL 77? That and the Row Jimmy are delightfully sloppy and dirty, and inspired. It's one of my favorites.
I don't believe so. The majority of my boots are still on tape and I kinda stopped collecting awhile ago. I was shocked last year when I saw how many DP's there are now. I remember waiting impatiently for them to release them faster when they first came out.

NP: Stanford '73
My favorite all time show outside of some '70 and '71. Lots of debuts but the ' They Love Each Other ' remains my all time favorite version of any live Dead tune.

Yep, you got that right. Well it's all moot now it's a final. too bad 'cause Italy won, we would have gotten through to the round of 16.
What do you think it is? I know we have good athletes and all but we just can't seem to get anything going at the international level. A lot of the guys on the US play in the Euro leauges so they have talent. Are the other nations just better tactical players or what?
The problem is that none of America's best athletes play soccer. We're never gonna be any good because nobody cares about the sport in this country. I've been hearing the argument for 25 years that we're up and coming because of youth participation, and we're still "behind the curve" with respect to knowing and understanding the game, but once we catch up... look out! Never gonna happen. Let the rest of the world have soccer. God forbid if we ever do become good. Surely we can be forgiven for American Imperialism, but there'll be hell to pay if we fuck up futbol too.

And once again, thanks to Chandler and the FOH gang (Dave and Mart) for the proper mic placement and knob twiddling. You'd barely even know we're there!
I can't believe one of the Brits on this board hasn't called this one out yet. Finbar Saunders and his double entendres.

Wow, this is really cool. Thanks for sharing everyone.

Anyone out there have a tab for Jeff's solo version?
-
I didn't ask but....yes, that part. I have been trying to figure it out also.
-
Thank you Mike. I'll give 'er a go.

Anybody know this one? Such a pretty song.
-
Cool. Guess I could've tried that myself but alas, I think I'm tone deaf.
-
Anybody have a tab for this song? Not sure who wrote it ( Freddy Fender, Texas Tornadoes) maybe? Cool song they used to play in the early Wilco days. Haven't been able to find anywhere on-line.

Anyone have this? I only see September Girls on altcountry. I have found a tab of it on another site but it was very basic and didn't sound right anyway.
Thanks,
Mike

Jesus... I can't believe these discussions still go on. Bands evolve, people change and go their seperate ways. It doesn't mean one is better than another. I personally prefer Jay's influence on the band than the stuff that I've heard since, but I won't discount Nels' or anyone else's work as inferior just because I happen to like the alternative.
More importantly, the band doesn't really give a toss what we think about issues like this anyway. Jeff is going to steer the ship in whatever direction comes naturally to him regardless of what the fans think.
Sit back and enjoy the ride or seek out a new band that blows your hair back more than Wilco. Either way, it doesn't seem necessary to belittle one in order to praise the other.
I'm going to get a beer now.
