  1. This was such a good show, i wish MMJ could have rocked longer. I don't remember there being a poster for this show which is wierd cause there are ones of the shows around it, but thats what I remember from the time. The security was harsh but I snuck up close, I wonder if you can see me in that pic.

PS its definitly in Boston not cambridge or anywhere else for that matter.

  2. old Slip is really good, its not as jammy as one owuld call it. Its more of alternative expansive soundscapes, they were good when I saw them at lupos a couple times but this past year I have been dissapointed, they were out of it when I saw them open for mmj in DC. But the old stuff has something great, they play as one big working machine. I suggest live at Lupo's Heart Break Hotel to hear some of this. I can put up a YSI of one of their shows if anyone is interested and find time.

  3. in one of the lounge ax shows from back in the day, the first performance of it if I understand correctly, after a flase start Jeff explains he wrote it ont he way from blockbuster to the venue. and yes sometimes its as simple as you a dollup of dreamwhip and a piece of pecan pie.

  4. They're really talented, but they have one shtick and, while they do it well, I don't feel it holds weight after a certain point. Kind of a one-trick pony in other words. I

If you listen to their songwriting it has some great lines. one stand out is "Hurry up and wait, don

  5. I caught them here in Roanoke the other weekend, and it being Roanoke and all they had a great time. THey apologised for rhyming the name of our town with toke. Everyone screamed with approval that they didnt mind one bit. It was great all the kids wanted to dance and a couple old fogies wouldnt have it so security got involved. Finally the band got upset over this and made sure that all the kids could dance. I will put up a you send it of my interview with ketch, the violin player and lead singer, from my radio show if anyone wants it. They were all toether a great show, rocking, great lyrics and even better harmonies. Who knew playing acoustic with mics could rawk so hard.

  6. I feel for radiodread they could have strayed a little farther from the radiohead versions to make them there own, but all in all its solid. You can't really mess up one of the best albums of all time. I have to say this take on "climbing up the walls" is pretty awesome.

  7. When is this new song from? Is it from the solo show on the 27th? Is it an original or a cover? I like it a ton whatever it is. It reminds me of early chinese apple with the fingerpicking.

  8. does anyone have Jeff doing this from the Letters To Santa Living Room Show on 2005-01-29. I know there might not have been a taping of this cause of what kind of show it was, but I really want to hear this cause I remember Jeff saying it was his favorite song, as it is one of mine.

  9. i love it except for can't stand it, and i hate the synth on i'm always in love but adore the solo version. it may be that the synth sounds exactly like the buttons being pressed on the register at work (we found this out somehow)
