  1. Does anyone know if the pit was for sale, or was just insiders and photographers?

The photographers had to leave after 3 songs. And I think the pit was for U of A insiders because a lot of them knew each other and the staff there. I also don't remember seeing those seats for sale.

  2. Hey Laurie and Rick. Too bad you guys couldn't make it. The venue and campus reminded me of the place in New Mexico we were at, but the crowd there was so much better. Either way, it's always a good day when Wilco is playing for you, regardless of the crowd, right?

  3. PLEASE post your photos from this show if you have good ones - we couldn't use flash and my camera wasn't up to the task, but I would LOVE to see some shots from this show I'll always remember...

My brother had a photo pass, so he should have some photos together soon. He was the big guy who looked like a bear up front. He also got 75% of BBN from the front before the security lady came over and snagged him. Didn't get the screaming. :(

@: 229someday. I guess you met my brother, not me. I was two seats over. Every time I tried to introduce myself, somebody jumped in. I guess you famous around there. I think we had killer seats! How about that security guard sleeping right in front of us? Ha.

I asked John why they don't come to the Phoenix area more often and he said it's an odd city as far as fans. He related it to Miami. They don't get any radio play, so not a lot of people know them. I assured him if they came, they would have a ton of fans at the show.

  4. I had it typed as Poor>Reservations>Spiders so i'm not sure what you mean *lol* you are right about the date though, I live in Phoenix so it was a little drive for me as well so it was late. :)

Edit, I have the correct date in the title?!

Sorry, I was really tired last night when I posted that. I must have been seeing things or not. :P

  5. Yeah, it was a great show, but I know what you're saying about not too many people getting into it. 'Shot' was also the first time I stood; then again, the only thing blocking my view was the pit and nobody in there even moved. In case you didn't see, during 'Seeds' Jeff put pointed to a guy in the pit, put his hand up to mime talking on a phone, then gave the guy a dirty look and the middle finger. I loved it. When he sang, "But you and I will be undefeated", he motioned to himself and the guy. Then a little later, Jeff asked if the guy was there as part of a community service sentence or something. He busted the guys chops for a while and then the guy said he was sorry. Jeff replied, "I think you really are" or something like that. I like to see him going after the talkers, etc. Bull Black Nova is awesome live as well. My brother had a photo pass and should have some photos up soon.

The only thing they didn't play off the set was "Passenger Side". Other than that it seemed to be heavy into YHF and AGIB. And it was Poor > Rev > Spiders.

And the show was on the 18th, not 19th. :P

[i'm sure you just as tired as me]

  6. managed front row! By the looks of it we'll be right in front of Nels' amp, so I'm searching the drawers for earplugs.

Me too. I'm in the front A seats 405 and 406. Should be very close to you. Lindy's on 4th Ave sounds like a great place to go eat after seeing Wilco. They are open until 3am! My bro and I will be there.

  7. :upset

Upsetting news. Listening to YHF right now and catching phrases that are sad. Reading his blog from a month ago is hard too because he talks about his hopes, fears, and future.

Rest in peace Jay and thank you for bringing joy in the form of music.

  8. AM: Casino Queen

    BT 1: Outtasite (Outta Mind)

    BT 2: Kingpin

    ST: How To Fight Loneliness

    YHF: War On War

AGiB: At Least That's What You Said

    SBS: You Are My Face

    WTA: Bull Black Nova

    MMA1: One By One

    MMA2: Remember the Mountain Bed

  9. This is true to a point. I can say that in Chicago there are many young professionals that go to the show to be seen... not for the music. This is most definitely... annoying. Not that they are not "true" fans, but that they won't shut the F up.

I noticed this at the MP show. Showed up in suits and seemed to be on their phones all night.

  10. If you take the first letters of each song [WDOBYYCSISE] and rearrange them (and/or take out some letters), you can get any of the following and many more:

    disobey

    cows

    odyssey

    bodies

    decoys

    dobies

    codes

    beds

    side

And if you do the same thing with the letters: wilcothealbum, you can get:

    cobalt

    outlaw

    bailout

    ice boat

    tea bowl

    metallic

    touchable

    biotech

    blue coat

    moth ball

    metabolic

    lethal

    mellow

    wealth

    hell cat

    comet

    climate

    ballet

    hallow

    helium

    touche

    mullet

    and many more.
