I have heard a few of these boots before, but I may have to break down and buy these.

Except for a few minor details (green ears from paint? really?), I loved the ending and thought it perfect.
All along, this was a story about character arc and growth, not a cliche police procedural. And that is how it ended: with a true personal epiphany from a tortured soul. All the red herrings about yellow kings, five men, Maggie, black stars, antler crowns were not fully explained leaving it to the imagination of the audience to fill in the blanks. That is the mark of true great art: the audience brings their own perspectives and takes what they need from it.
With that said, I ate up all the weird fiction, circular imagery, conspiracy theories, etc. This makes for a more participatory experience. But, ultimately, this was a story about Marty and Rust. And that is what gets resolved. Like real life, the easy answers are front and center and under your nose (lawnmower guy) while the true criminals (the high up 'sprawl' of elites) goes unpunished.
Plus, the show always had a way of keeping you on the edge of your seat. The chase thru the creepy caverns with the shoe chandeliers and piles of kid clothes was harrowing to say the least. Gripping television.
I understand why someone might be let down by the end. Those that wanted tuttle (and everyone else in The Video) in handcuffs at the end, but we (the audience) are let down just like Rust and Marty (very meta). Time is a circle: Marty kills Reggie to prevent further investigation; Rust kills Errol to prevent further investigation. Life goes on and on.

what did marty see on that video?

I know I'm a bit behind but I just busted through season 3 of Walking Dead. I just love that we live in an age where we can marathon watch these shows non stop. Can't wait until season 4 is on Netflix.
I have been liking Season 4 better than Season 3, so far.

A truly fantastic show with so much depth and thoughtfulness. My mind has been racing with all kinds of theories and tangents. Was Marty's daughter abused (doll setup, pictures, tiara throw)? Is the yellow king just a reference to drugs? or is there an actual person? If a big conspiracy, why leave antler girl out in open for 'regular' police/public to find? Why is there even a reference to an obscure literary work? Why didn't Rust recognize lawnmower man with his scars? Am I over-thinking a piece of (meta)fiction (i.e., LOST)? ... I particularly like this idea (even if it turns out not too be true).
I do know one thing: The final minutes of the one episode wher Rust goes into and out of the projects with Ginger is one of the most captivating bits of television I have ever seen. All in one continuous take; no cuts, edits, etc. The opposite of the current fad of a million edits, fast-moving camera, etc in order to convey some action scene (and usually leaves me wondering WTF happened). This is an intense edge-of-seat piece of true cinema.
What do you guys think?

Am I the only nerd here looking forward to this one? I may not be the biggest Cosmic Marvel person, but what is not to love about Rocket Raccoon?

Am I going to need ear plugs, seeing these guys in a theatre setting?
I saw them in a small-ish general admission type of place and I wish I had brought ear plugs. My ears were still ringing a day later. Very loud. (I know, I know. I am starting to sound like a geezer: you darn kids with your loud rock and/or roll music! get off my lawn!).

The only music I listened to today was from Trampled By Turtles (live). Pretty good stuff. They're no Giving Tree Band but they'll do when in a bind.
I just picked up tix for a TbT show. Looking forward to it. Heard they are good live show,

RIP. One of a handful of people who shaped my young comedy psyche.

Wrapped up House of Cards S2 this morning. Probably better overall (at least more consistent) than season 1, though it's a little predictable when you become conditioned to assume the worst out of Frank Underwood. That said, he is someone I would definitely not want to meet in real life!
Just finished Season 2 and ... wow... very good show. The first episode was shocking, but the rest was very enjoyable. Recommended.

This is a tough crowd for this question but I will suggest "More Like The Moon".
For non-Wilco / Tweedy songs, I think "Wreckroom" is a good choice.

After hearing two songs now, I no longer care that Beck has a new album coming out.
I had the same reaction after hearing them.

Congrats, dude. A long time coming ...

Hahhahah... you guys are awesome. Those are both good calls; however, I think is he is too narcissistic for the 2nd (who knew there was a Wolverine guitar? wow). Deadpool, on other other hand, would totally play his own face.
-
Good lord, they making that guitar out of adamantium or what?
LOL. I see Logan as more of a Gibson man than a Fender man. He would play an SG, no?

I love Shovels and Rope. Fantastic harmonies. I saw their ACL set on TV a while back and they look like they're a lot of fun live.
I saw S&R live and they are pretty good.
