  1. yay! although there seems to be some figure skater haters here, I am super proud and happy for the Canadian Ice Dancers Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir who just won gold! Their free skate tonight was beautiful! I grew up watching figure skating, then stopped, and then I saw this teams free skate from last season and got hooked again. Fantastic team!

    Pretty amazing how either Canada or Russia won't even make it to the medal round.

    this is incorrect.

  2. gah! this one hurt... :ohwell

    Team Canada had some AMAZING chances. That USA goalie was pretty damn good tonight.

    Next time, USA....next time....

    curling = awesome

    agreed! the men's Canada vs Great Britain last night was a GREAT game.

  3. I was definitely pleased with the show last night. The crowd was great and the atmosphere was really fun. It was a little torturous to stand through Default. :unsure I thought Califone was ok but I had a hard time hearing them. I thought the sound for Wilco, however, was really incredible considering the venue.

    This was my first time seeing the band since (the album) came out, and I was really impressed with how the new songs sounded live. One Wing and You Never Know were definitely highlights for me. I have to say that I love hearing Hate it Here and Walken live. They both have such a fun groove to them! :dancing The guys seemed to be having fun throughout the night and I wish the show could have lasted longer.

    I topped off my night by running over to Robson Square and hearing Jeremy Fisher play a short set near the skating rink. I LOVE him! :wub It was a very fun day!!!

  4. I saw both of his shows in january here in vancouver. i have to say i was pretty disappointed. both nights there were some excruciating phases with really hard and distorted sounds. i wish i had brought my earplugs. he played some really nice tunes, took a few requests from the crowd, but overall he seemed super depressed and certainly made my sister and i leave the show feeling really conflicted.

    sweetness! i saw Basia a couple years ago at the Calgary Folk Fest and got a major girl crush on her. Saw her again this past september and I think she's definitely grown as a live performer. I can't wait to see her again and hear her new album when it comes out!
