  1. be very careful with people selling them cheap. there are loads of cheap chinese knock-offs being sold. i actually bought one, and fortunately the person gave me the money back, after i proved to him it was fake - you might not be so lucky.

that shows the fake, and i got my fake from amazon, so it's not just ebay

apart from that - the mono box set is the best version to get. for the sound and for the packaging etc...

yeah, i heard about that. i see that people are selling them used for as cheap as 98 bucks...i knew something must be up.

thanks for the heads up. i'll probably just buy it from best buy.

  2. I have those on vinyl. My dad bought them when they came out.

A friend of mine (in his early 20s) was looking at those at a Barnes and Noble the other day. He called and asked me what they were, as he had not seen that particular release before. He was getting those confused with the Past Masters cds.

yeah, i have those on vinyl as well. Now, i would LOVE to have the c0lored vinyl versions of the blue/red album. Have you seen them?

  3. Yeah, I have no need for these two collections personally (I bought both box sets), but lots of people will be very pleased to see them. They'll sell millions of each.

I might buy them anyway, because I'm crazy like that.

how do you like the mono box set? i just checked amazon and it looks like i can get it new for as cheap as $150.

    Red and Blue Albums Remastered

The September 2009 release of The Beatles’ remastered original albums and new boxed collections in stereo and mono was one of the year’s top entertainment events, breaking chart records around the world. Apple Corps Ltd. and EMI Music are pleased to announce that The Beatles’ original 1973 compilations, 1962-1966 (‘Red’) and 1967-1970 (‘Blue’) have been digitally remastered for worldwide CD release on October 18 (October 19 in North America). Both 2CD packages include expanded booklets with original liner notes, newly written essays by Bill Flanagan, and rare photos.

The first Beatles compilations to be released after the band’s 1970 disbandment, the popular ‘Red’ and ‘Blue’ collections each feature a selection of singles and album tracks written by the band’s members.

‘Red’ and ‘Blue’ have been remastered by the same dedicated team of engineers at EMI Music’s Abbey Road Studios responsible for remastering The Beatles’ original UK studio albums, carefully maintaining the authenticity and integrity of the original analogue recordings. The result is the highest fidelity the catalogue has seen since its original release.

overkill. of course, as a beatles fan those 2 albums are pointless.

on another note, i still want to pick up the mono box set.

  5. Yeah, thought since I picked it up early it would be colored though. But seriously, it was the only copy the store had too. I guess I picked up the last one they had...They had none of the limited CDs.

Been picking up most new albums on vinyl lately unless the CD copy is really cheap at Best Buy or wherever.

yeah, i've actually started selling all of my CD's...and going mostly with vinyl. i'm running out of space now (over 2500 CD's). I'm like you...i'll buy the CD if it's really cheap, best buy usually has 7.99 or 9.99 on new discs...i'll transfer them to my computer, make a backup, then sell the CD back! If i really like the album i'll buy the vinyl.

  6. Just got this today on vinyl. # 1471/4000 and the vinyl is as black as night. Thought it was colored? Looked all over Mexican summers site and so no mention of colored vinyl... (nevermind 1st 1000 are on seafoam, 3000 on black)

oh well! you have a great album on vinyl tho! i'll be picking this up on vinyl this week.

  7. No, just a "Limited Edition" version of the CD. Hand-numbered, in a cardboard sleeve, as opposed to a jewel case.

Didn't cost any more than the regular version, so I figured, why not?

excellent! yeah, i want to pick up the vinyl of this...i think i heard it's an orange color vinyl.
