this thread has made me realized how much i love that song. its filled with little kernals of goodness.

I had a dream that i was at an acoustic Jeff Tweedy show, and before the show Jeff decided to say a prayer for some reason. And their was this atheist in the crowd who was being very obnoxious and started laughing histarically.

we're just friends.

So i discovered Wilco maybe 2 years ago. I started with AGIB, then Yankee and kicking tele, then got into some of jeffs acoustic stuff, downloaded the more popular songs from the other albums, and then finally SBS.

It was just this past summer when i picked up Summerteeth.

and wow... the rest is history.....

Summerteeth is hands down my favorite wilco record. Does this also go for many other of you? Because i NEVER hear people talking about it. Whats up with that? The only song i'll skip over is "in a future age" other than that i absolutely love the rest. I had been previously familar "via" and "shot in the arm" due to frequent setlist apperances. . But honestly, if you ask me, i dont really care for those as much compared to like "pieholed suite" and "when you wake up feeling old". i would take the kicking televisioin versions over the ST ones anyday out of the week.

I dont know how it was able to sit in the shadows for that long.

How do the rest of you enjoy Summerteeth in relation to the other albums.

I had always heard about the whole shock factor surrounding Yankee's sound and heard that previous albums were more folk-oriented so i had figured ST was like that. But its a total pop record. and i absolutely love it.... now i just gotta get AM and Being There, im pretty excited...

i got into wilco about a year and a half ago. Introdcued by A Ghost is Born. I then of course got more and more into them and did research ect ect. I breifly knew about all of the lineup changes. But up until a few days ago i had always thought Nels was in the band during the making of AGIB. Kinda depressing, the guitarwork in AGIB is amazing, the sick overdrive and sonic guitar solos, i thought it was the work of a god, nels cline himself. all well though.

So it was the work of Jeff and Jim O'Rourke, O'Rourke is the man. If u can say you've been a member of wilco and sonic youth u are awesome.

Jeff Tweedy never looks the same.

On ACL he looks like like an old pissed of man. When i saw him live he looked like a baby with his haircut. Every time i see him he looks different and has a differenty hair style. He looks the sweetest during the time when he had the beard in the IATTBYH documentary. Doesn't it freak u out how he always looks different.

i don't know exactly where some of these people come from. i love it just as much as any other wilco album.

yes, from the sound of the new songs it seems that the title of "dad-rock" will be rightfully earned. i say with my head down. as much as i would like to be pumped for this album i'm having some ill feelings for it. i don't think it will be as epic as AGIB. i really hope that all my predictions are wrong though.

could anyone hook me up with a link to either an acoustic(probably not but that'd be sweet) or a live version of reservations.... i went to the east lansing concert and reservations was my favorite album-to-stage rendition.

well i found a website elaborating on nels equip. but any other info u have i'd gladly receive. i have on question inparticular. jeff and pat both use this acoustic guitar that has two white pickguards on it. that thing looks aweosme. anyone know w hat it is.

i have a confession/statement/question. well, when i first got AGIB and after listening to through several times. i did not like spiders. and up until this day i still don't dig spiders all too much. but i remember at the concert, there was a song i didn't know and they mentioned Michigan in it a lot. So i went through the setlist up above and tried to find the song. no luck. then just a few minutes ago, spiders popped up on iTunes, i have it on shuffle. so i listened to it, and michigan is mentioned several times. So did they play spiders and were all completely and utterly insane, or is there another song that mentions MI and if so which one is it. i went through the songs i didn't know and the only ones i could find anywhere were walken, and "Wreck (or is it Rock) Myself (new song?)" . is it either of them.

wow, that was amazing. i've never heard nor even heard of "impossible germany" but that and "reservations" take the cake as the highlights of the show for me.
