Hey folks, My girlfriend just got us two tickets to one of the Greek Theater shows through the FrontGate pre-sale, and she said the cheapest shipping option available was UPS, which was 12 dollars! can anyone confirm this? she swears she looked all over for a standard Postal Service option or anything cheaper and there was nothing. if this is true, it seems pretty awful, and contrary to the spirit of a pre-sale. not only is the price outrageous, but it adds the inconvenience of needing someone to be home when the tickets arrive; in most major urban areas, UPS will not leave anything a

Hello folks! I used to have a recording of Wilco's set at the 9:30 club from October 15th, 2002. It was the first time I ever saw them, and it was mindblowing. Specifically the opening "Not For The Season" was killer. Unfortunately, I lost this recording in a hard drive crash. Anyone have any idea where I could get my hands on it? Thanks! - DB

regarding the 08/24 Berkeley show... I was at this show and considered it to be one of the best I've seen, but phew...listening to the archive right now and two things are killing me: 1. Side With The Seeds is waaaay slow. too slow. Shake It Off is a little bit slower but I actually think it makes it cooler. But Seeds just crawls. I remember noticing this at the show but didn't think it was so bad, but now it's killing me. 2. Whose guitar is crazy out of tune during "Impossible Germany"??? Good Lord it is bad! I can't believe I didn't hear that at the show. anyway, just

fantastic performance, thanks so much for this link! and this is definitely my favorite Wilco song, mostly because of the almost painfully quiet section in the middle, where those long notes keep repeating. that gives me chills every single time I listen. it so restrained and simple. and so patient. like...I could easily see some pop producer telling them to cut that section out of the song, but it is so crucial. it's the whole reason I love it. Glenn's playing on this track is superb as well. well, Glenn's just always superb. I'll always remember the first time I heard it,

I love this song, and I've always been surprised that they never play it. I thought it would have fit very nicely into those very loud, noisy post-AGIB live sets, especially since it has that long, drawn out section at the end. I could see Nels going crazy over that part.

Oh, and one more thing. Yeah, let people have their opinions. Let's not jump to conclusions and make generalizations about someone just because they like or dislike one thing. And let's especially not call someone names (like "dickwad loser" for instance) just because they happen to have a negative opinion about something this band has done. One of the most frustrating things about big music fans is the idea that you must LOVE EVERYTHING your favorite band does, and you must never say anything negative about them, or else you are not a true fan. Wilco is my favorite band. Period. Becaus -

Just wanted to weigh in on this discussion. First off, I strongly dislike this song, as well as "Walken," "The Thanks I Get," and the other couple of new songs I heard on the last tour. This is not becuase I do not like a good rock song, or especially a good Wilco rock song. Hell, "Monday" is what got me hooked on this band. I also do not expect the band to make another Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. For one thing, it's a very different band from the one that made that record. Still, I can't help but feel like Jeff Tweedy's songwriting has taken a dive since A Ghost Is Born. The most o
