  1. I was recently at a Midnight Ramble at Levon Helm's studio in Woodstock, NY and it was one of the best shows I have seen. His studio is great and the music was timeless. Larry Campbell could be the best guitarist you have never heard of. He plays in Phil Lesh & Friends so he does not get that much exposure, but he is awesome!

  3. It is BYOB, but lots of people bring things and you pretty much have a full meal. 49 Mercury opened the show. The drummer for them used to be in The Band in the 90's when Levon was playing bass. It was a great experience and I really hope I can make it too more of them. I in his newsletter that spring tour dates will be annoucned soon. He is doing some shows on the east coast now. People need to see these rambles because it is an unbelieveable experience.

  4. I attended my first Midnight Ramble at Levon Helm studios in Woodstock, NY and it was an incredible experience. The tickets are a bit pricey at $150, but considering you are at his home/studio it isn't that bad. The music was fantastic and his band is very tight! The band consists of Levon Helm, Amy Helm, Teresa Williams, Larry Campbell (Bob Dylan, Phil Lesh), Brian Mitchell, Mike Merritt (Max Weinberg Band - Conan O'Brien), Jimmy Vivino (Max Weinberg Band - Conan O'Brien), Little Sammy Davis, Erik Lawrence, Steven Bernstein.

If you can make the trip you should definetly go! I am already planning on making a trip back!
