  1. ok I've had some free time today at my office and I've download 2 different FLAC converter programs and a WINAMP player and I still cant get any files to play from that Owl and Bear site...I dont understand what I'm doing wrong, I'm not computer illerate...lol At home i've got a mac and a program to convert audio files and I usually dont have a problem switching over files but there is something about Owl and Bear that just doesn't work for me... I sorry and I dont wanna bug anyone but I've gotta have a Blood of the Lamb version from one of the 2008 shows...can someone please upload me the track? Believe me this isnt laziness here, I've tried all day to get that file to work for me...from one wilco fan to another I would greatly apprieciate the help...

  2. I'm just chiming in to say how much I enjoyed that song at that Ryman show. Great rendition with the Total clarinet playing Pro and very cool lighting design. I was sincerely hoping it would make the DVD (we saw the cameras and knew one would be released ultimately...given Sunken Treasures' success and all.) I have that visual burned into my brain.

Me too!...it was definately a highlight of the concert for me...i was kinda disappointed that it wasn't on there myself... I really like the instrumental version that plays during the talking part before the Ryman show... Wilco does a great job of selecting songs during the "in between" parts on their DVDs...like I LOVE the acoustic Diamond Claw on the Sunken Treasure DVD... I've tried to figure out the tabs for that version and I'd kill for an MP3 or something of that version but that would be almost impossible because of Jeff's talking while its playing...lol

  3. I got a program that converts files to mp3's but for some reason I cant get that file to work... any suggestions or if someone's got the song could you upload it on here on sendspace or something? thank you for your help...I really dig the dixieland reworking of that song... gotta have it! lol

  4. I just downloaded the Washington show from the DVD and i was hoping it was from the 1-26 show which featured Blood of the Lamb... But anyways does anybody have a sendspace link or something of Blood of the Lamb from any 2008 show, Nashville would be awesome because I was there...

  5. hello folks.. does anyone have 1 extra ticket for tonight's show? I live about 90 miles west of knoxville and im gonna drive up there today by myself with hopes of finding a ticket...if someone had a person back out and you got an extra ticket, i would gladly meet you at the venue and buy it from you...please... my email is petsounds00@yahoo.com

  6. BAITUSA is for sure a better album.... the songs on SBS are stronger, but Born just flows better...sounds more natural than SBS... I can't explain it, but when I listen to SBS now, I find myself playing the DVD versions of the songs (which are much better IMO

  7. I'm a big fan of both bands and i personally don't think the bands are alike BUT I do see where people get the comparisons if that makes any sense... especially on the sonic atmospheric tracks on YHF, AGIB and the Wilco Book CD. I believe when Jim O'Rourke is involved, he puts a Sonic Youth/Radiohead element to Wilco's music.... I have caught myself telling a few friends before who had never heard of Wilco that "they sound like the offspring of Bob Dylan and Radiohead" So I guess I'm guilty as charged...

  8. personally, I hate his music (with the expection of some of that Massey Hall album and On the Beach), but it goes beyond that. I feel like if you're still kind of (relatively) an up-and-coming rock band getting more mainstream attention, the last person I'd want to go on tour with is Neil Young. Why? a) he's just another aging boomer relic who is pulling out the "rares" in order to wow the audience that grew up on his hits while simultaneously egging on your overzealous critic fans to give you more praise than you deserve. B) Each member of your band can singlehandedly outperform him and has made better records on their bad days than this guy's best days. however, due to the novelty fact that "he's freaking Neil Young!" you'll never be given the credit ('you' being Wilco) you really deserve.

I mean, come on, to be fair, I don't like Neil Young but I think we could all agree here Wilco puts him out of business in terms of actual showmanship. His songs, not that he can help it, are either given a folk rock or grunge rock treatment and they never are given the room to breath life. Whereas, you have a band like Wilco, with two superhuman musicians and probably the most likable singer-songwriter in his age group playing songs of more dense emotional (okay, opinion) and musical (this however I feel is fact) complexities-- the craftsmanship of the mentioned bringing a tight yet spaced out sound. I feel like Wilco going on tour with that guy is Wilco not giving themselves enough credit. Yeah, he's Neil Young, but you're doing now what he did yesterday in terms of making contemporary, fresh, new sounding music. You're not recycling as much as your contemporaries are, the music you make is as new now is his was then. You should be the ones on stage, you can't help it that the music business has (for the most part) aged more intelligently than him and you get overlooked.

don't get me wrong. if you wanna go see Neil Young, go see Neil Young. But everyone should be going ape over getting to see him open for Wilco, not the other way around. I'm sure I'm the only one that feels this way, I'm sure I sound backwards to probably 99% of the people here.

I myself am a big Neil Young fan as well as a big Wilco fan...to tell you the truth, Neil's influence on Wilco drew me to their music... Hey Giraffo you wouldn't have Wilco if not for Neil Young...Even though thats your opinion, I personally don't think you know what you're talking about.... Jeff Tweedy's singing has been compared to Neil, his guitar playing especially on AGIB sounds alot like Neil, sometimes his songs are structured like Neil's also.... you don't have to like him, but shit man, if you're a REAL Wilco fan, you HAVE to respect Neil Young

  9. Alright Goo, I think I figured out the main chords for the song I believe it goes Bm to A back to Bm to an Em standard tuning....like this

    Bm A Bm Em

What Good Am I...... and so forth... any corrections or clarifications are welcome....

  10. I said I was sorry...can't somebody tab this song out...its not like its real hard....if i knew which capo he frets I could probably do it myself but i know there are people on here that has a better ear for things like that than me

  11. I'm sorry folks if I offended anyone...I actually thought the guy was being sarcastic to me....If you look on my history, you'll see that I've asked about this song a couple of times...I guess it was just frustration on my part...which was wrong....
