Walt Whitman's Nephew

When it was released, I loved "Monster." Revisiting it a few times since then, I think it's dropped in ranking compared to other R.E.M. records, but, "Tongue" and "Let Me In," are still the standouts and a couple of their best songs, IMHO.

I didn't stand up because I was a bit embarrassed by the high number of requests I made. I was making the requests on the Wilco site while I was on-hold during phone calls... I'd like to think this says a lot about hold times and less about my determination to get my song played, but that's probably not the case.

A really great show. We caught the Portsmouth Tweedy show in July and this one was better. (Maybe it was just because I was more familiar with the songs.) Either way, everything sounded great. As mentioned in the posts above, Jeff was in good form, and kept the mood light. I would say I wasn't thrilled with the woman who sang along with "You and I," but, since I was the one who requested "My Darling" a few too many times, I feel like I am in no position to cast aspersions.
