  1. If you truly didn't mean to copy the song, it doesn't matter and you can probably tweak it to make it sound less similar. This happens a lot and I notice it with new artists all the time. Just change a couple things, don't scrap it. I did something similar to this once and I just played with it until the song eventually morphed into it's own unique form.
  2. It's called Thanks Henry http://www.myspace.com/moonsocketband Please have a quick listen and tell me what you think.
  3. i've been pretty unimpressed so far, but we still have a lot of time. deerhunter/hoof was interesting enough to listen to for a while. I like some of the new dr. dog too.
  4. Interesting use of synths with the acoustic guitar. You've got a good voice.
  5. It warms my heart to see Procol Harum mentioned on here. Not in my top 5 but they're goood.
  6. Blonde on Blonde - Bob Dylan After the Goldrush - Neil Young Captain Fantastic... - Elton John Born to Run - Bruce Springsteen Portrait of a Legend - Sam Cooke This list could probably change weekly, but these are definitely artists that I really love. Beach boys and Beatles probably deserve some cred too.
  7. Anything from Josh Ritter's discography is really great so I second that. Other than that, I'd probably go back and listen to some classic 60s and 70s stuff, like.. Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run T. Rex - The Slider The Band - Music From Big Pink The Byrds - Mr. Tambourine Man Neil Young - After the Goldrush And for some really easy going music.. I'd go with Curtis Mayfield or Toots & the Maytals
  8. Hmm.. bummer. The band was actually called "woonsocket" originally, named after the naval frigate USS Woonsocket. But there was a typo on the battle of the bands program and we were stuck with moonsocket.
  9. Hey guys. As wilco fans, who probably have an appreciation for jam-bands/classic rock music i figured I'd ask for your feedback on one of my own band's songs. We just started self-recording some songs on my computer and we posted our first one on the internet. I play keyboards / sing. Tell me what you think / what we can maybe improve on. http://www.myspace.com/moonsocketband
