More wonderful news from the world of Sarah Palin, our young earth creationist nutbag of the week: "Stein says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. "She asked the library how she could go about banning books," he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. "The librarian was aghast." That woman, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn't be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving "full support" to the mayor." - Time Magazine Source - http://www.time.com/tim

Wow, the Palin's must be thrilled to be welcoming such a fine, well spoken, thoughtful gent into the family.

- Oh, and that's not beer in that glass, it's oil, and we're hopelessly addicted to it - and, if we were not so dependant on it, the oil companies wouldn't get away with a quarter of the shit they do. And one day soon, that glass is going to be empty - and that, I'm afraid, will be much more than stupid.

Mother-in-laws say the darndest things: "I'm not sure what she brings to the ticket other than she's a woman and a conservative. Well, she's a better speaker than McCain," Faye Palin said with a laugh." http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/r...tain_about.html

Worse, she partook in the sinful act of sex, and devil be damned, became impregnated. The irony of course being, her mom is a big supporter of abstinence only sex-ed. We can only speculate, but maybe if mom took a more reasonable, realistic approach towards sex and contraception, little Ms. Palin wouldn

I was attempting, in my original post regarding the protestors or protests in general, to speak to a larger point, but, as so often happens on this board, when you try to do so, it gets twisted entirely around. I

That was not my point at all.

True, but like I said

True, unfortunately, it is becoming clearer, to me, that in many respects, lawful, peaceful protests go largely ignored. Say what you will about the WTO protests/protestors in Seattle, and they certainly deserve their share of disdain, but they also deserve some credit for bringing a largely ignored issue to national and international attention.

Yeah, my original intent was to vote Green, but then they chose McKinney, and that in turn made me change my mind right quick. After much soul searching, unless some heretofore unknown bombshell is dropped prior to the election, I think I

No, but yes, in my opinion, creationists, especially young earth creationists hold some beliefs that are batshit insane - and if those beliefs were not wrapped in the shroud of religion, I doubt many people would feel especially impolite or mean pointing the batshit parts out. Edit - example - when the following carcass was found, some creationists claimed it was a plesiosaur-like creature - turns out it was just a basking shark. From wikipedia: Photo caption - Carcass found by the Zuiyo Maru, said to be a plesiosaur-like creature by some creationists; scientists who have studied it

Sure, but only insofar as it is mean to criticize anything else we all choose to criticize all day on this board, pretty much 365 days a year. This struck me as unnecessarily mean: So, I guess mean is subjective. Now, fucking google-image your teams fucking logo and fix that shit already, for fuck
